They Threw The People Out with the Garbage at KCBS Friday Night

Image result for garbage SO YEAH...the end of the month is never a good time at a radio station --especially here: KCBS let loose with most all its traffic and sports staff, one guy who does the PM sports and has for 21 years, Dave Lewis is out the door. So too are a lot of traffic people.

The garbage bin of new hires is particularly nauseating. I'm not mentioning names yet.

A lot of this crap most of the people knew what was coming April. The bartenders will be busy at the Old Ship and Grumpy's.

Have a lovely Friday night.

Greg Papa Rips Draymond Green Because Green Rips Raiders' Move From Oakland to Vegas

Image result for Greg Papa GREG PAPA was on Draymond Green the other day for having the gall to say that the Raiders scheduled move to Las Vegas was out of line. Green said the Raiders "are Oakland --and I'm standing up for the city of Oakland."

Papa was talking on his radio show 95.7 FM The Game --he's also the play-by-play broadcaster for the Raiders (and is paid by the Raiders for his work on their broadcasts)

Green was incredulous that the Raiders would leave their hometown --"That would be like the Cowboys leaving Dallas and the Celtics leaving Boston."

He went further.

Papa patronizingly said "that's Draymond being 'Draymond--hey, they're moving." I'm paraphrasing because The Game doesn't archive all their hours but Papa's ripping went beyond mere criticism.

It bordered on Papa being a shill for the Raiders. I won't go that far but it was close.

In sports media Bay Area, Papa is considered a top-notch professional. And he is, I've been a supporter. But I heard Pop's poop on Green and it was way over the top. Arrogance would be the right term.

Did I mention that the Raiders PAY Papa? Oh, I did. I'm not saying Pop is a kiss-ass but he should have kept his mouth shut on Green's comments or at least acknowledge Draymond has a right to his opinion. And you know what? Green is 100% percent right and Papa gets a personal foul.

415 Media Exclusive: KTVU 'Fox2' To Expand '10 O'Clock News' Half-Hour to 11: 30 PM Just in Time for May Sweeps

Image result for ktvu 10 o'clock news anchors  KTVU's Breadwinner --its heralded, award-winning franchise "10 O'clock News" will be EXPANDED to a half hour --from 10 PM to 11: 30, 415 Media has learned, exclusively through multiple station sources.

The expansion is set to debut in May right before the all-important May Sweeps.

The half hour addition will wipe out a syndicated show but Fox-owned KTVU makes big money on its local news and most especially at 10 PM --furthermore, Channel 2's extra thirty minutes will cut into other local news outlets' viewers in the Bay Area that begin at 11; a move that won't be happy news, particularly at KNTV and KPIX in particular.

KTVU's expanded 10 O'clock News --until 11: 30, was met with a rather subdued reaction; the staffers; air talent; producers; assignment editors; directors and camera people will NOT be getting any extra compensation.

Breaking: 415 Media Exclusive: Cate Caugurian Leaving KPIX; Headed To Chicago; Staffers Pissed at Bastida and Cook Over 'Sophomoric Behavior'

Cate Caugurian off to Chicago; leaving KPIX
JUST AS I was beginning to really appreciate the work of passionate KPIX reporter/occasional anchor, Cate Caugurian....comes word to me, via a reliable CBS source near Battery gulch that Cuagurian is leaving PIX and is headed to Chicago to work at an undisclosed station.

Caugurian leaves at a time when there's quite a bit of upheaval at the station; Bruno Cohen, the GM announced his retirement earlier this week. Plus, Caugurian herself was a central figure in some recent, in-house jealousy rage.

Meanwhile, 415 Media has learned that a vast majority of the staff is "royally pissed" off at the sophomoric behavior of prominent on-air talent Ken Bastida and Elizabeth Cook.

"They giggle and chirp constantly; it's like 'high-school homeroom crap in the newsroom --they're laughing and giggling while everyone else is working, " said a well-placed source.

415 Media Exclusive: KGO-TV's Chris Nguyen Back at 900 Front; Traumatic Sight Cause of MIA Since November

Image result for chris nguyen abc7  KGO-TV veteran reporter/anchor Chris Nguyen has been away from the ABC7 Front Street studios since November ...now we know why.

My KGO source tells me Nguyen was so traumatized by the sight of a body under a news van he had to take a leave and begin counseling

Nguyen is back at work and apparently OK but the incident clearly affected him to the point where he couldn't go to work.

I'll try to get more details in the coming days.

Two Days Off Walking and Thinking; Noshing and Worrying; The Story of My Life; 415 Media Thursday

Image result for Taken time off  OUT OF THE CLEAR BLUE I TOOK SOME TIME OFF; I needed a rest both physically and mentally --I'm back now with people lecturing me; "you know, you should tell (us) when you're gone" (something like that); the usual internet jerks that are like the center of the beehive: "see, no content" --it's hard to do free stuff."

Lovely people, that darn internet brings to life.

Image result for Walking through North Beach SFYes, as Tommy Lee Jones said to Harrison Ford in the second "The Fugitive", "I'm tired."

And so am I. Yet here I am back today scribbling together a few news and notes. I succumbed to part-time caregiver and media maven blogger. Heavy lifting, no way, but mind-numbing, exhaustive brain manipulation nonetheless --I can't believe Herb Caen wrote six times a week, I know he had lots of helpers but he still had to write the damn column every day, including that hefty Sunday deal.

In total time tribute, I took two and a half days. I took some walking tours around Lake Merritt and ate some pasta dishes and fish at the local eatery. Mostly, I read a lot and tried to etch out a brief "to do list"; mind you I feel naked every time a day goes by without the blog being updated and those of you that come here regularly --including all of you that have sent donations and bought subscriptions); I felt guilty (surprise) that you weren't able to read and see fresh material. I have a conscience in case some of you think I'm just some snarky mean bastard. Heavens no.

Walking is a great stress reducer --it invigorates the endorphins and cleanses the mind. Too bad it couldn't invigorate the donation button and allow me to breathe but that's another story. The fumes have been getting more harsh and the stench is getting stronger but not to fear, I'm holding off a pledge break for now so I can figure out a way to make all this truly great journalism you relish a break-even proposition even if at the moment I'm losing my ass but making your tuna sandwich and coke taste better. The last sentence just proved beyond all reasonable doubt I'm a blogger.

If I were offering career advice I'd tell you right away before anything take a good power walk. I'd say go take a walk but adding "power" walk makes it sound more important even if it isn't; my delusions are kicking in--what a wonderful life.

I made it over to Geno&Carlo and the old standby, Bobby the Bull, was there. Bobby is an old, Oakland relic who moved over to North Beach when the price for a small studio didn't require holding up a bank. He was smoking a cigar outside and bought me a vodka and beer back; it was like the old days; the only thing missing was cranky, old Albert giving me shit about my loud mouth!

Walked across the park down Columbus and saw the tourists sitting outside enjoying sun and talking about nothing. Which given the current political climate is par for the course --I mean, the world is about to go to hell; North Korea and Kimmy Jung whatever-the-hell his name is, keeps threatening to launch a missile that could hit Ocean Beach; Trump is being Trump; the Germans hate us; the British are annoyed at us; the French have always hated us and now hate us even more; I wonder why.

Image result for Gino and Carlo
So I'm walking across town over by the Embarcadero and everyone seems to be in a jovial mood. The Farmer's Market is packed like a boatload of people searching for a vat full of sardines and 5 dollar cups of coffee. It's like a Whole Foods tour was let off the boat and hoisted to the Ferry Building. Don't get me wrong, it's a cool detour from the mishmash that is Union Square but far too yuppy for me. Especially when you see well-meaning women placing brussels sprouts on the top of pizza dough! Attention! Deport those women immediately! Make them listen to NPR!

As I navigated the environment and began forming an end-up card, I careened back across Market Street and over to California where I soon saw the comfort of Tadich Grill in the foreground. It was getting late, well, 7 PM for me --a BART ride looming, I was mulling the post route ride home and I became hungry. Beckstein, my late father's bridge partner gave me a hundred bucks for my birthday so I quickly settled on the counter at Tadich. The place was packed as usual and the old guys in the white shirts behind the counter were quick with the bread and butter. I had a huge opening seafood salad and a calamari steak! BA DA BING! Man it was good. Brought back memories of the scene with the family on Sunday nights at Spengers in Berkeley. Tadich is magical even if the crowd looked sort of out of place. Again, the tourists have taken over and a smidgen of tech people overwhelmed the counter with their asshole smart phones and lap tops. Too bad Bill Graham wasn't alive; had he seen any of this crap, he would taken that computer outside and thrown it to the ground.

My dinner is complete. The sun has set. The walk to the BART on Montgomery is closing in; hell, I've got a bargain today! The elevators even work. As Joe Starkey would say, "OH, WHAT A BONANZA!"

See ya later.

Raiders/Vegas Deal Isn't 'Done' Yet; Folsom/Raddy Orgy Excess Dreck; Unease at NBC Bay Area; Monday Muse

Image result for SF Bay Area news and information  MONDAY MUSE

Image result for Raiders Las VegasThe big hubbub on Bay Area news platforms today will be the likely positive NFL vote allowing the Raiders to move to Vegas. It will be highlighted by the obligatory live shots from Eastbay bars where teary-eyed (probably) fans will lament the "loss of 'our Raiders." Not so fast.

Too bad the majority of reports here (and likewise, Vegas) will not do the heavy lifting --that is, lengthy fact-finding and real reporting --which will show that all the NFL/Raiders hullabaloo over "Las Vegas Raiders" will be just that: lots of fluff. The story is far from over. There's tons of open-ended questions. The Raiders don't even have a firm stadium site. There's some financing issues too. With a project this size (billions) there's a lot of plugs to fill; construction; labor costs; monies allotted; oh, and this: with about 1.9 Billion dollars of financing to consider, it's inevitable Mark Davis (managing partner/owner) will be on the hook for massive debt to pay off--enough debt to possibly derail Davis and the franchise.

Image result for Darya Folsom Gary Radnich KRONBelieve me, with a project this size and enormous entities the "done deal" is done when they break ground.

*That gushy back and forth this morning with Countess Darya Folsom and bloated Gary Radnich was about as terrible -good as they come. The segment has always been a farce; a guy laying in bed on his cell phone schmoozing with the double doughnuts woman, is about as compelling as an Emeryville 7-11; she gushed and shrilled extra mojo Monday and he sounded about as interested as a happy hour crowd at a Salt Lake City Marriott.

Image result for NBC Bay Area San Jose*I don't know how you feel but if you care the newsroom in San Jose at NBC Bay Area is littered with a lot of "major discontent" --from an ear that usually gets it right. Furthermore, according to the fly on the wall: "A lot of people hope there's no buyer's remorse after they hired Stephanie Adrouny as the ND"

Adrouny is well-liked and respected. She was a major force at KGO where her work and commitment earned her a lot of props. Nevertheless she mainly got the SJ gig because of her friendship with ex-KGO ND, Kevin Keeshan. Nothing bad about that but it's an issue now and will hover over her if the troops are pissed off and it seems they are for a variety of reasons which we will point out sometime soon.

*That commercial orgy on radio with the schmuck asking you to "flip your house" is evil. Torture. I have something I'd like to flip to that asshole.

Ted Koppel tells Sean Hannity 'You are Bad for America'

My only beef is, "what took so long?"

I talked about noise in an earlier post...this is Ted Koppel leveling the creator of major noise.

Huzzah.

Sunday Noise

Image result for noise from radio SUNDAY MORING...a time to relax and enjoy. To sleep in and rest the body. Cleanse the soul. Forget about life's challenges and complex plots...peace and tranquility.

Until you put the radio on.

Noise.

Noise on the Cumulus KSFO littered with syndicated carp and crap.

Noise.

KNBR...with taped, local real-estate and financial shows that pollute the airwaves like the refinery factory smokestacks along 80 East.

Noise.

Normally sacred KCBS with live and local news repeating for the umpteenth time a political rally in the city; another repeat "story" about the GG Bridge being the most popular landmark in the county; endless traffic reports (no traffic) and REPEATED!, repeated, weather updates that are merely REPEAT! weather "updates" from 10 minutes earlier ...screw TSL and its ludicrous time sets. For what? Morons.

Noise.

Noise like KGO Radio with a, you guessed it, TAPED, syndicated tech show with some woman who has a chain-smoke voice and idiotic giggle named Kim who talks about gadgets. It's all tripe and leftovers like a bowl of rotten eggs and week-old spam.

Noise.

FM is no better with church programs and community shows that make watching paint dry look interesting.

NOISE pollution.

Beautiful Woman Anchors ...Oh The Crime!

Image result for ama daetz hot WHY oh why is it a crime to say a woman is "gorgeous", "beautiful", a "classy" look? Specifically, why so if said woman was a TV News anchor?

I've never understood this.

Would it be bad if women complimented anchor men based on their looks? No way.

I'm sorry but last I checked, TV is a visual medium...v.i.s.u.a.l. I'm not saying intellect and moxie be axed, but looks do count, sorry if I offend you and apparently, many of you I do offend.

What about beauty, smart and graceful? Or am I just trying to camouflage what I really think. I think I'm rather clear. And to say I look at a particular anchorwoman without really checking her out, including her physical appearance would be truthful and thoroughly human and honest.

I rave about Ama Daetz. I think she's a beautiful-looking, striking actually, anchorwoman. Again, why is there an issue with her looks? Am I to be castigated for making such a statement? Hardly.

Some women check out male anchors too and they're not looking for intellectual prowess. Maybe that's not the PC thing to do but it's the truth. Men aren't the only purveyors. Whatever.

I'm going to be called a misogynist again and that's the farthest from the truth.

415 Media Exclu: Roqui Theus Leaving KPIX 'Morning Show'; Changes in April

Image result for KPIX Morning Show  I'VE TOLD YOU about troubles involving the KPIX Morning Show--a program beset with low ratings, uninspired talent and questionable direction. Not to mention a traffic anchor who is clearly beautiful to watch but can't cut it when she broadcasts.

Changes are coming to the CBS-SF morning program and from a source close to the action, it appears one change is imminent: Roqui Theus is all but gone.

Image result for Roqui Theus
Roqui Theus
Theus wasn't on the show both Thursday and this (Friday) morning in what may be a signal to her status. My source says she's leaving the program in April. It appears everyone else is safe, for now.

Michelle Griego is close to signing a new deal (if she hasn't already) as I predicted but not at the deal she was longing for.

Theus was seen as a bright, new, energetic personality with loads of potential but she was incapable of reporting without mispronouncing street and highway names, constantly flubbing her lines, and never living up to performing as basic a function as providing traffic updates for Bay Area viewers.

No word on who will replace her but PIX is searching around the globe.

Let's be clear too. Theus is not the only reason for the Morning Show troubles. Combine a lack of chemistry amongst the players; outsized egos; questionable direction and overall incompetence --other than that, it's a winner.

Reporter Exodus at KTVU Because of Bottom Line Fox

Ted Rowlands
First it was Ted Rowlands...wait, I forgot: Janine De La Vega too, who vanished from KTVU and is now at ABC7 (KGO-TV) ..Rowlands is headed to Chicago to apparently work in PR for a shoe company. Ouch!

Notice a trend? KTVU reporters are leaving the Oakland station in abundance. Some are the most tenured and talented too.

Why?

Because Fox-owned KTVU doesn't regard reporters as very important to the news platform, that's why. Therefore, most good reporters will leave and seek work elsewhere if they can get more money, or at least enough to make a living and garner respect. It's not just reporters but anchors too (see Rowlands) Fox simply won't pay other than those already under contract or those who will take the lean pickings because they love the Bay Area lifestyle and will work on the cheap. It works both way though: some can't afford the prices here and leave out of necessity.

WHY is KPIX reporter, Cate Cauguiran loathed by some of her female co-workers at the Battery gulch? Try pure jealousy --you would think this day and age that wouldn't be an issue but at PIX it is and it's nothing new.

I haven't really talked much about Cauguiran --frankly, she comes across as much too average but the more I've watched her work the more I'm impressed.

Related image
Juliette Goodrich
In fact, I'd love to see Cate anchor every now and then but that would require some direction at the station but there is no direction at KPIX. Just a number of people out of place; people who don't know their missive; non-identity anchors; not a one Face of the Station --someone you build around. Again, PIX is rudderless. No wonder the women are fighting and trying to mark their territory --and now you know why there's all these new reporters. Pretty soon, they'll be bitching too.

*Her uptightness remains an issue: Michelle Griego --the morning diva still hasn't signed a new contract and the ratings are not that great. My gut says Griego will stay but at a reduced price.

*Status quo: Juliette Goodrich. And by extension, her price goes up. Hurry up Bruno Cohen.

The Chronicle will ultimately survive because it has Hearst money behind it but if it didn't have that it would go kaput because it's such a crappy, terrible newspaper. The SFGate website is a joke; a place that people go to only because it is hard to find news in the Bay Area and thus, you have the Comical.

415 Media Breaking: Eric Thomas Back to Work at KGO-TV

Image result for eric thomas kgo We're happy to report that KGO senior weekend anchor and reporter, Eric Thomas, is BACK at 900 Front. Healthy and happy too, at least for now.

Thomas has been away from the Circle7 news biz for almost a month --he took a medical leave --I had my own theory.

A source close to Thomas told me just now that the official reason was that Thomas has been battling blood pressure issues and the fluctuation wasn't good.

I'll bet that the high blood pressure issue was dictated by Thomas' battle with KGO's upper mgt desire he be more "social media active."

Image result for kgo-tv 7 imagesLike other stations these days, KGO has become ultra gung-ho on its web site promos; its Twitter and Facebook presence --to a point where that facet is more important than the worker themselves!

Oh dear lord.

In any event, we are happy that Eric Thomas is back in the saddle and working his gig for Channel 7. He'll be back anchoring on Saturday night.

415 Media Exclusive: Angela Alioto Throws Her Hat into 2019 SF Mayoral Race

Image result for angela alioto san francisco   ANGELA ALIOTO --whose last name is considered political royalty in the City by the Bay--is strongly considering a run for the 2019 Mayoral Election, 415 Media has learned.

I asked Alioto directly the other day about it and she neither confirmed it nor denied.

"I keep all my options open," she told me.

Translation: Alioto is running. Because she thinks she can win and she surely would be the front-runner amongst these contenders.

Image result for SF City Hall Room Mayor's officeAlioto ran back in 2003 but she was considered far too liberal even in a city known for its progressive history, and was far off the pace.

Her politics have become far more centrist and her list of advisers and friends are the centerpiece of San Francisco political and social establishment. Plus, she has lots of money and that never hurts.

Oh, and her father was the BEST mayor ever. Advantage: Alioto, 2019.

Ted Rowlands Leaving KTVU; Move Shocks Oakland/Fox Newsroom; Heading To Midwest For Non-TV Gig; Cutbacks Loom at Jack London Square

Image result for ted rowlands ktvu TED ROWLANDS is leaving KTVU for "personal reasons" --his last day was Friday. The move shocked many of his colleagues in the newsroom --not so much for his own leaving but what it bodes for the future at the Fox Bay Area O and O.

415 Media has learned that Rowlands is heading back to the Midwest to work for an athletic shoe company and not a TV News operation.

Fox is making waves at its Oakland division for the implementation of staff cutbacks--particularly those individuals that are high-salaried anchors, reporters and producers. High on the list are some big money reporters and anchors who have contracts coming up and might be non-renewed or simply have their salaries cut.

That distinction may have hastened Rowlands move to leave as he was only back a brief time at KTVU and whose return to Jack London Square was heralded as an uplifting decision for the staff and Rowlands himself who was leaving CNN to come back home.

The feeling amongst some senior staff is Rowland's move will trigger more people leaving and/or a series of big-money staffers being directly axed out at KTVU in the coming months.

A Message to the Readers of 415 Media

415 Media has reached a new high in readers and followers but unfortunately not enough funds to sustain the 24/7 work and effort put forth by its creator and author; its blogger who relies on donations and subscriptions to keep the site afloat --we're living on fumes now.

There are those of you who have made donations and subscribed --countless times--to support 415 Media and I greatly appreciate your help. Unfortunately, there are not enough of you.

I've resisted the idea of putting 415 Media behind a paywall because I know many of you who come here don't have the financial wherewithal to commit to a yearly subscription.

So today, I'm asking those of you who like reading about Bay Area media; TV -Radio insight, opinion and news that you won't get anywhere else to MAKE A DONATION, NOW.

It takes quite a bit of time and energy to make 415 Media happen. I'm a one-man show.

Go to the Pay Pal icon on the right side of the blog and SUBSCRIBE --$25 one year; $30 two years--YOU can also make a DONATION --all contributions are 100% CONFIDENTIAL and SECURE and you do not have to have a Pay Pal account to contribute. I will personally CALL and/or E-MAIL you thanking you for your contribution.

We're at a critical point. I need your help to keep 415 Media up and running. If you enjoy coming here --(and over 250,000 of you come here monthly) then if just a fraction of you make a contribution then 415 Media will be financially feasible and the need for pledge breaks will be significantly lessened.

THANK YOU ALL

John Rothmann May or May Not Say It's Time for President Trump To Go on KGO Saturday Night

Image result for Negative Donald Trump IT'S BEEN A TUMULTUOUS WEEK FOR PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP--even by Donald Trump standards.

Coincidently, presidential historian and political guru, John Rothmann, will be on KGO Radio tonight.

Image result for john rothmann kgo
John Rothmann
An industry wag told me that Rothmann may just formally say that's it's time for Trump to go.

Or not. You might want to listen from 7-10 PM.

Sure, Rothmann used to work for Dick Nixon so he knows controversy --and Nixon was one hullava controversy but Nixon now seems like a regular FDR compared to The Trumpster.

Rothmann leans heavily to the left of the spectrum but he's also about as objective as they come and has been regularly supportive of Trump's legitimacy if not his off-the-court actions of late. And say what you want of Rothmann, he's known around the Bay Area and nationally as a respected political observer on both sides of the aisle.

So a Rothmann doctrine calling the current POTUS, unfit to serve, for example, might be cause to order some Chinese food and wine and stay put on a Saturday night and listen to his monologue.

Of course you could also listen on demand too but I'm wanting the live version, that's just me.

No matter what, the way Rothmann conducts the orchestra, it figures to be an entertaining three hours minus the obligatory traffic reports and spots.

Eric Thomas Mystery at KGO Still a Mystery

Image result for Eric Thomas KGO
STILL DON'T KNOW THE OFFICIAL explanation over Eric Thomas's MIA from the KGO 900 Front studios but based on what I hear, medical leave has a lot to do with the bosses (ND, Tracey Watkowski and GM, Bill Burton) and him clashing over his lack of social media activity.

Thomas has been away from KGO nearly a month.

Thomas is a two-decade veteran newsman at ABC7 and as indicated here, is well-liked and respected in the news department. His lengthy absence has a lot of people, close friends included, both stymied and worried at the same time.

We will update and get back if we know of any more developments.

Savage Attack Post Mortem; 415 Media Gets Scoop; Thanks TMZ; Boo Chronicle; 'Tolerant' Bay Area? Not So Fast

Image result for Michael Savage restaurant attack SO, HOW WAS YOUR DAY?

I've been running around and writing and talking. Good exercise. But I'm exhausted. Whoa, what a crazy day it was. Whirlwind activity. Non-stop observing and a whole lot of reflection. Just catching my breath. Tough life, kid.

Well, I assume you know the syndicated Bay Area radio talk host, Michael Savage, was harassed and attacked in Marin the other night.

OK, bragging right dept, you saw it here first, and thanks TMZ for crediting 415 Media. You too, Gateway Pundit, --Mercury News,-- Daily Wire have I left anyone out?

On the other hand, a big BOO! to the SF Chronicle --which got the Savage story early and was hesitant to run it but eventually had to because the whole world reported it. Naturally the Chron didn't credit this site because its editor hates bloggers. By the way, in case you don't know, the Chronicle is an alleged newspaper that is lately more fixated on real estate pictures and man-eats-dog stories. Jason Robards was right.

Oh, forgot, thanks Glenn Beck too.

Bay Area TV/Radio was just as lazy and pathetic as print and digital. Savage's misfortune got scant attention --I saw a brief story on KRON and some mentions on the local channels. It was a big story regardless of how you feel about Michael Savage. I mean, it's not every day a 74 year-old man with his dog out on the town gets physically attacked and assaulted by some goofball lunatic. And here I thought Marin was so mellow and tolerant.

Speaking of such the Savage incident illustrates the FRAUD that is the perception that the Bay Area is a land of tolerance but only if you identity yourself as left, "progressive", forward-leaning--less that, you're fair game for violent knuckleheads and tough luck if you get attacked and thrown to the ground while your poodle gets kicked.

Tolerance? Really now.

Syndicated radio talker (heard here on KSFO) Michael Savage was violently confronted and physically attacked by an unknown assailant last night (Tuesday) in a Marin County restaurant.

Savage was with his dog, "Teddy", and finishing up dinner at Servino Restaurant in Tiburon, CA (north of San Francisco) when the unnamed assailant charged up to Savage and began yelling, "Hey Weiner", making fun of Savage's legal last name. The attacker then kicked the poodle out of the way so he could get to Michael and then grabbed Savage and threw him to the ground, according to an eyewitness who watched the attack along with several restaurant patrons.

Savage was not seriously hurt and his dog is OK but the incident left him bloodied and shaken.

I was able to contact Savage's attorney, Dan Horowitz who told me, exclusively:

"We're going to seek felony charges against the man and we're going to investigate this as a Hate Crime because of Michael's political views."

KGO-TV's Eric Thomas Mysterious Disappearance; Veteran ABC7 Anchor Off Air For Nearly Month

Image result for eric thomas kgo WHERE'S ERIC THOMAS

Veteran KGO-TV (ABC7) anchor Eric Thomas has been off his regular weekend night duty for almost a month.

Sources at KGO tell me Thomas has taken a medical leave --a leave that might have been hastened by management's clamping down on the senior newsman who is well-liked and respected at Channel 7's 900 Front studios.

One newsroom source speculated that Thomas may be leveraging for a buyout --fed up with management's consistent carping over his lack of "social media" activity.

In any event, Thomas's absence has many staffers--including friends and colleagues who have known him for years, concerned about his status.

Thomas has had some prior health issues but it's believed he's not in any imminent danger.

I'll be investigating and get back with any news if it warrants and UPDATE.

Drop-Dead Gorgeous Angela Sun Hired as 'In-Game' Reporter for Oakland A's on CSNBA

Image result for Angela Sun CSNBA Drop-Dead Gorgeous  Angela Sun has been hired by the A's as their "In-Game" reporter on CSNBA --presumably she's going to report from the field and offer news and info plus tidy features. Sun has a lot of experience, is a social media addict, and is supposed to be quick-witted and possess mucho sports depth --well, OK, that would be nice.

And let's not kid around: she's gorgeous to observe. I'm not supposed to mention that aspect because I'm a brain-dead, tone-deaf mutant from Yuba City. But I'm observing Ms. Sun in several pictures and she looks like quite the stunner. I'm guessing there's a lot more Oakland A's fans today than there were yesterday. Gees, I wonder why.
