John Rothmann May or May Not Say It's Time for President Trump To Go on KGO Saturday Night

Image result for Negative Donald Trump IT'S BEEN A TUMULTUOUS WEEK FOR PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP--even by Donald Trump standards.

Coincidently, presidential historian and political guru, John Rothmann, will be on KGO Radio tonight.

An industry wag told me that Rothmann may just formally say that's it's time for Trump to go.

Or not. You might want to listen from 7-10 PM.

Sure, Rothmann used to work for Dick Nixon so he knows controversy --and Nixon was one hullava controversy but Nixon now seems like a regular FDR compared to The Trumpster.

Rothmann leans heavily to the left of the spectrum but he's also about as objective as they come and has been regularly supportive of Trump's legitimacy if not his off-the-court actions of late. And say what you want of Rothmann, he's known around the Bay Area and nationally as a respected political observer on both sides of the aisle.

So a Rothmann doctrine calling the current POTUS, unfit to serve, for example, might be cause to order some Chinese food and wine and stay put on a Saturday night and listen to his monologue.

Of course you could also listen on demand too but I'm wanting the live version, that's just me.

No matter what, the way Rothmann conducts the orchestra, it figures to be an entertaining three hours minus the obligatory traffic reports and spots.

  1. Trump is a traitor.Besides that, He insults Mexico,Australia,Germany,England..and praises Putin.
Its obvious Trump is a shallow vindictive man who because of all the bad publicity and investigations followed that with his ridiculous budgets that scream "take that"
There isn't a single thing he's done right. He's gone back on "I will never leaves Washington,so much work to do" to spending every weekend in Florida. His appointee's are all Big Oil ..and Russian friends.
His ignorance on just about any subject shows. The unrelenting pathological lies. He's not fit to be dog catcher.
Lets get him out before he gets us in a war with North Korea,China, and who knows where else?. A dangerous man a step from the button.
Or,he simply breaks down American society into one of haves and 95% have not's.
    IMPEACH TRUMP!

    1. #BREAKING: Rachel Maddow will have another Exclusive Monday Night: Generalissimo Francisco Franco is still dead.

A great, trusted and quite handsome journalist just broke that on twitter!

    2. @626...still going on about the Maddow thing, huh? Sorry she disappointed you haters. Trump probably leaked them for a little distraction, picking a decent year of actually paying taxes. Just wait till more recent years are leaked by some insiders, then everything will fall into place for the Orange Mussolini to go down. I can't wait!

  3. Rich,

I really appreciate you letting us know John Rothmann is on tonight. I'll be listening. I don't remember the last time I listened to KGO...many years ago.

  4. Rothman is old school...but too old school to be relevant. He really has no clue about the current political situation. I't obvious he is mostly guessing.

I may give him a few minutes tonight on my drive, but will most likely tune in the Monique Marvez and Bryan Suits offerings on KFI.

    1. Hey...remember when he and Thurston were saying Trump would never win the presidency a few months back?

      Pepperidge Farms remembers.

    2. 5:47, what is Rothmann missing out on or clueless about? Just wanted to hear your factual comments.

    3. @547...uh, excuse me, but your president (not mine)is the clueless one. An embarrassing one at that. And if you don't see it, you're just as clueless as he is.

    4. I went ahead and gave him a shot in the 7-10 hours. All Rothman did was argue with people. He would say "go ahead with your opinion"...and the cut them off. He also gets backed into corners then he lashes out and "loses" the caller. When he tried to discuss N.Korea he was not really up an the subject at all. Just a re-hash of the wire stories.

KGO need to learn a lesson in how to have good shows, with few callers. There are a lot of low information types that shouldn't be let on the radio, even if it supports his views.

It was difficult to listen to, but I gave it a shot anyway. let's see if he can really do a N.Korean show with some real substance. I'm all up for that, and I'm sure others are too.

  6. I listened to all 3 hours of John, he was always my favorite next to Gene Burns,(mostly it was a tie between the 2). You are so right Rich, it is riveting radio and those who say John has no knowledge of the current political situation is ignorant or only listen to the likes of Sean Hannity, or both. Rich I love it when you write about John and other talk show host as well, it is worth the $25.00 I donated recently, even though I'm a little miffed that you rarely post any comments I have that offer even a tepid defense of Ronn or critical comments on Savage, well so be it, this makes up for it.

  7. You mean Rothmann will straddle the fence? WHAT A SURPRISE!!!

    BORRRRRRRING!

    1. You obviously don't listen to John Rothmann much if at all. He does not straddle the fence, but he keep the caller to the subject, and he is objective. On Saturday John wanted to talk about Trump's personality, not his policies, callers on both sides had trouble separating the two, and John did a superb job of trying to get the callers to stick to the issue. Which is what a good talk show host should do.

  8. Huh? Rothmann old school? What does that mean? Is reading and being a political expert "old school"? Trump is 70 with no political experience. Talk about just plain old.

Have politics changed that much overnight? John, while leaning to the left, knows of what he speaks.

    1. LOL @ just plain old. Your beloved Pelosi is 77, Dianne Feinstein? 83. Jerry Brown? 79 next month. Barbara Boxer? 76. Chuck Schumer? 66.

Thank you for the laugh this morning Emma. I needed it.

  9. Who of any importance cares what some liberal, local, fill-in host thinks about a Republican president? Answer: NOBODY!!!

  10. If I was in the GOP Congress, I'd use Trump for cover while you pass all the terrible bills the base and donors have been clamoring for - then you hit him with the impeachment and hope he takes all the negative feelings toward the party with him, setting you up for a decent off-season election.

    1. Where in the hell did you learn that a GOP controlled House of Representatives would ever impeach a President of its own party? Nixon and Clinton were only impeached after a long series of very public hearings and neither one would have ever been convicted by the Senate. It's easier to push them out (Nixon) or force them to do your bidding (Clinton). Newt Gingrich and the House managers had Bill Clinton by the balls from that day forward. He did exactly as he was told and they loved it. How do you think Glass Steagall got repealed?

      You need to read this:

      http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/grover-norquist-heres-what-happened-this-week-that-guaranteed-trumps-re-election-and-republican-gains-in-2018-and-2020/article/2617794

You're DONE. The Democratic party needs to rebuild. It'll take years if not decades. There is no leadership per se. Get to work and you might have a shot at gaining something significant back by 2022.
