Fonzi is a Bay Area veteran anchor and reporter. He's been at KTVU for over two decades and spent time at KPIX.
Early in his career, he anchored in Salinas.
Fonzi has done weekend work at Channel 2, in addition to working as a locker-room reporter on post-game 49ers' shows.KTVU, the Bay Area Fox O and O, carries the NFL (NFC) on its air; in addition, with Ibanez, Fonzi has anchored 49ers-related programs and will assume Ibanez's weeknight anchor duties. No official announcement has been made but a close station source told me Fonzi has the job.
No surprise.
Fonzi will begin his anchor duties on or about April 4th.
Ksbw I believe was the station fonzi came from and if I'm correct he was just a regular old newscaster not a sports guy. I don't have any much to say about him, he does his job and that's about it.
ReplyDeleteJust the facts Fonzi. No gimmick, smarm or compelling content. Blue-collar delivery that is efficient.
ReplyDeleteI've always preferred Fonzi over Ibanez
ReplyDeleteJoe fonzi has got to be in his early 60's too..he's slowed down, wonder how long before he also retires
ReplyDeleteMaybe after Fonzi retires, there won't even be a Sports Anchor on this news show. This is the trend we've been told to expect.
ReplyDeleteI can live with it. Most sports tend to bore me anyway.
Did Fonzi date Leslie G or just Mark?
