CNN Tries to Woo Woo Woo KGO's Watchable Weather Princess, Sandhya Patel

Image result for sandhya patel kgo As I watch capable, smart and perfectly gorgeous weatherwoman extraordinaire, Sandhya Patel deliver forecasts for KGO (ABC7) it comes as no surprise that CNN is trying to woo her towards a gig for its "International" channel.

Here's hoping KGO and Mr. Burton can sweeten the pot so Ms. Patel won't be leaving the 415.

The viewers like her; the rooftop on the Embarcadero at 900 Front likes her, and I like her too.

Not a bad combination.

  1. She's smooth and in her prime. But,Francis Dinglausen-also of KGO- might have a funny name..but she's as exotic a woman on local TV as they come.
Its a wonder she's stayed at KGO all these years.

  2. I usually get home too late to watch KGO's 6 pm news but caught it yesterday. I was thinking she's gotten to the point where she's big league material. I remember when she first started at the station.

    1. I remember when she was an intern at KCBA in Salinas....1994...she was a baby herself then.

  3. I want to know if she's related to Rocky Patel and can get me free cigars if I ask nicely.

  4. Doesn't she have a bunch of kids she would have to uproot if she were to leave? For a while there she seemed perpetually pregnant.

  5. Good weatherperson.

(Rich, no mention of SFGATE's pending paywall? It's been two days now.)

    1. Didn't SFGate try one before?

    2. SFGATE suck huge Nell Carter ass. A paywall for SFGATE will surely kill it. I only ping SFGATE for Hartlaub's writing and movie listings. the Chron has ruined SFGATE for all eternity...

    3. Sfgate was great when the trolls roamed free. The Dish was great entertainment. Then they started screwing around with usernames and passwords and changed the landing page. Too many ads, too much click bait. Long ass loading times.

  6. Yup. She's not going anywhere. And why should she? Her gig is pretty cushy.

  7. Yo Sandy -- get out of San Francisco, the worst media market in the nation. But then again, aren't they all these days?

  8. If she wants career growth now is the time. Getting older ain't gonna help her. It might take more from ABC then a bigger local check to keep her. If I was her I'd ask if there was any weather spots open on GMA, reach for the stars girl.

    1. CNN isn't necessarily career growth. They're a cheap, two-bit outfit.

    2. GMA already has Ginger Zee, Rob Marciano, and the leggy Indra Petersons doing weather.

  9. Sara Snider made the move around 10 yrs ago or so and look who made the right move.
    You never know these days.
Don't want Sandhya to go but...

"I'd ask if there was any weather spots open on GMA"

Is that you, Pero? The oldest trick in the book is to get strong competition out of town, but usually you'd have to at least send out the stuff on her yourself. Don't be lazy.

  12. CNN is a complete non-starter...However the offer is always open to her...and has been open to her for quit some time.
She knows she can do much, much better if she wishes to leave the area.

  13. Am I the only one who thinks she is, at best, the 4th best weather reporter on local television? That canned, phony forced smile and ridiculous fake laughter are enough to drive me away.

  14. Sandhya is hotter than the hottest East Indian curry...and would be hotter on the court than Stephen Curry
