I nominate Tolbert for the role of Punxatawney Phil, the fat lazy groundhog they jerk out of his den every Feb 2. Suits Tolbert and we’d only hear his lame prognostications once a year. I call that a Win-Win !
I read several comment posts from the RL interviews about how Frank should go (in direct or indirect terms) to Sacramento, Fresno, Bakersfield, Boise, etc. to start fresh. Is that not insulting? Would a former very recent star baseball player with similar or same past history have to go to the minors for year(s) to start over? If he is not good enough here for redemption and a restart; then that should be his signal/time for a career change or volunteer work. He is a 65 now and doesn’t probably need the money (although not sure how much he pays in alimony) and many of you expect him to start from scratch to make it back here. Give me, or rather him, a break!

@10:04 You are right, the guy is smoking bunk weed. Stefanie Lin and Teresa E are both superb. I used to like Vicki L before she went Hollywood and became a Diva. But let’s be honest, all the stations have both strong and weak anchors. None of the stations are perfect - and what I like, may not be in your, or Rich L’s, wheelhouse. Nobody is atrocious, but neither is anyone superb. I’d like to suggest the earlier writer hit a dispensary and load up on some Calif Gold. (Huell Howser approved)
Frank is just a bit of a dork. So was KRON’s Pete Wilson with the famous circular (trash can) file where he threw humorous stories. KRON was actually pretty good back then. But, Frank still hangs out with “ticket to ride” and “vinyl room” Mark Ibanez so at least he is cool by association. Mark was like the Fonz back in the day. Frank is not a dweeb by any stretch.
@ 5:43 Purdy is the real deal, he's above average, problem is kyle; predictable, unable to find the right defensive coaches and has a habit of 4th quarter breakdowns and losing big games hence "jinxed"
