Spot on. I heard the Ohtani question and almost fell out of my seat. Based on the tone of his voice, I don't think Bruce Jenkins is terribly excited to talk to Sandra each week. As a fan of Marty since his A's days, I don't think having a co-host works for him. They probably thought adding female co-hosts would attract more female listeners. Marty is starting up his own YouTube channel soon, so hopefully he'll return to a solo act on his channel.
I did catch Sandra's comment about Shohei pitching. I agree it was not the right question. The better question would have been something like this. LA just won a close race unlike last year. Do you think that this along with Shohei help them get beyond the first round in the playoffs? You missed one keep point. Sandra was named "Rookie of the Year" on that show. Ray from Sunnyvale
Sandra and Carmen are both not good for the show, but I'll give her the benefit of the doubt on her question. I think she meant to ask if Ohtani would pitch this season. This was still a topic of discussion until his GM confirmed recently that he would not pitch this year.
KNBR should syndicate their “stars”. Look no further than the home grown “talent”. Tolbert & Copes need to be syndicated so that the rest of the country can hear their (mostly Copes) weird brand of non-sports centered comedy, Tolbert’s craft beer knowledge, and their sex robot programmed to arouse and pick bets, and sports betting insight with their usual hucksters like non-Dr. but so-called “Dr. Bob” to boot. Papa and Lund should be syndicated for all audiences to hear the ultimate in a kiss ass duo with Lund of course saying “Like you said” for the umpteenth time. Murph and Markus from the dynamic morning show need syndication for Murph’s Little League news/coaching insight and his corny open letters (as if he is so important like to A’s fans) and to promote Markus the unqualified former intern who got awkwardly called out by a sports writer for a description of a final in a sport not used. Don’t worry folks, these guys will still be in the air for us to soak it all in for years to come.
Well put !! That shows some innovative thinking. Good job.You are smarter than all 6 of them put together. I would prefer them on a blog so I will never hear their voices again
Carmen Kiew is the worst and has no baseball knowledge other than being a fan gurl. STOP PUTTING CARMEN ON THE AIR FOR THE LOW OF GOD. So glad baseball season is over. I heard Kopey Kopes and Jon Lund are going to invite Carmen down to Levi's and the KNBR studios for pre & post game Niners reports. Can't wait! Carmen can tell us who she has crushes on in the NFL and give out fantasy football advice.
Hey Sandra G! If you paid attention to baseball news the Dodgers said over a month ago that had no intention of pitching Otani in the playoffs regardless of their lack of starting pitching. You and Carmen should be nowhere near the KNBR airwaves. Stop being hangers-on. It's not a good look and actually kind of pathetic. Go do a podcast with Carmen that NO ONE will listen to.
Guys Marty is not going to get rid of Carmen or Sandra he considers them part of his broadcast package and people who work at KNBR can assure you that know Marty at the station Marty is not going to give up on Carmen or Sandra no matter how bad their questions are. Marty's hours were cut from 7-8 hours a day to just two hours and critics of Marty say he's got long in the tooth as well and is putting listeners to sleep. He's no where what he was during the Giants World Series years.
@9:35 the Giants are nowhere near where they were during their World Series years. They are 5 years away from getting to a play in game. Their farm system is ranked in bottom 1/3, maybe even bottom 1/4. But Larry Baer fucked the A’s so he could see more action at the turnstiles. His greed made me quit paying attention to the Giants.
10:56 AM 8/1: The updated Bleacher Report has the Giants Farm System ranked 30 (last/worst) out of the 30 teams. The A’s wound up 7th best. Baer & Company certainly screwed over the A’s fans with their complicit in on the plan owner. Hard to respect a team acting like this with “territorial rights”. Did LA and NY teams had no such bs I believe.
Maybe Posey can bring back some more talent and dignity to this now sad pathetic franchise on the field and in management but I am not interested in them until then. We are not alone in our disgust.

ReplyDeleteI would be more likely to listen if they kept Sandra and Carmen and dumped Marty.

DeleteAt last we get top quality sports talk show in Dan Patrick and Rich Eisen show and
ReplyDeleteand an alternative to 1050 ESPN lineup. Too bad the signal strength is not great
Aside from Marty, Miller, Laskey, there is nothing worth listening to on KNBR.
ReplyDeleteOhtani is a God, and he should be getting kudos. Unfortunately for him, his Dodgers will choke again and again and again.
He just missed the triple crown by a few hits. It'll be interesting to see what kind of numbers he puts up when he's back to a two-way player.
DeleteThose guys put me to sleep. They should retire them all
DeleteThumbs up on Miller and Laskey. Marty Lurie had his hours cut
Deletefrom 8 to 2 because he has no talent. His act is as tired as
Kruk & Kuip.

ReplyDeletePosey has Carmen on the short list for GM
DeleteBrandon Belt and Carmen can be co-GMs

ReplyDeleteThey're on because Lurie put them on his show
DeleteWhen Pete Rose died Copes was talking so fast I didn't know who he was talking about
ReplyDeletePeter Felch approves of KNEW Sports Talk.

I already miss Bloomberg 960. They had such a great station with the staff and content. The best information in the Bay Area.
ReplyDeleteI miss Bill Moen in the morning on Bloomberg 960. Ryan Seacrest couldn't hold a candle to Bill Moen's wit and wisdom.
