Glad KTVU never invited him to Julie Haener farewell. I bet people will LOL at him and Dennis Richmond will teach him a nice lesson how his takeover replacing Dennis screw things up. Girlfriend???
I love this guy. Talk about honest. I always thought he was the best anchor in the Bay Area by far. But let’s be honest he imploded. But seeing him today. He looks AND acts like a different person. KRON or PIX would do great if they hired him.
You're a GM and hire Frank as a goodwill gesture. The first time he gets cozy with an intern you will be sued..Her lawyers will say you hired him knowing full well his past issues. How much $ will it take to settle that case?
“ You're a GM and hire Frank as a goodwill gesture.”
You got it wrong right there. GMs, and everyone else in the business, don’t do this as “goodwill gestures.” They’re in business to protect themselves and make money. Grow up!
Frank may want to lose the Haight-Ashbury garb draped and clanking on his wrists for the job interview. Looked like he stole one of Simon Cowell’s overly tight ill fitting t-shirts but those guns were impressive. He should show us his six pack abs next time to impress the ladies. I think Tucker Carlson was who he was thinking of but forgot the name. This is the third or fourth interview and I was not getting why Rich asked the same questions involving his past as before. Is this for new listeners? I also felt this interview went all over the place and off the rails at points. Some local station should hire Frank as he seems to be sharp and sober. I think the legal concerns are overblown given just the one settlement for minor sexual innuendos emailing offense if that is all there was per Frank. Sun screen may help prevent those dark spots/patches as well as skin cancer by the way Frank. Maybe you scratched/bruised your arms though which as we age looks pretty bad for awhile and is unavoidable.
The industry has changed post pandemic. You have to be open to the fact, that its not just an issue of your past. Stations are looking for something different now. Not your fault. They aren't looking to go back to old school. Even though I think they should to. Your time may have passed. That said, I think a station like KRON, as opposed to the O&O's may benefit more from your presence. How about radio? Have you considered moving to a smaller market to get back on your feet and move back? Seriously.. maybe you do two years in Reno or Bakersfield, and make your way back. Rooting for you.
Truly enjoyed this interview.
ReplyDeleteWhy not ask Frank about Brian Hackney or if he’d be someone he would anchor with like Juliette Goodrich?
Also why not interview more folks like Brian Hackney & Darren Peck as examples?
Great interview, Rich. Maybe have his Brother on for an opposing viewpoint.
DeleteSammy Davis Jr.
Oct 4 & 5

KRON is the only shot Somerville has.

ReplyDeleteGood interview. Difft ques: KPIX ran 4 hours of news?? National and Bay Area??? They have no programming to offer since Judge Judy is gone?

ReplyDeleteAgree on Abby Phillip. Erin Burnett is very good too.
ReplyDeleteErin Burnett is an idiot. She's trying wash the CNN feces off of herself, but the stench will never leave.
Delete@ 5:30 You've been cnn brainwashed @ 7:58 Couldn't agree with you more
DeleteI always laugh when I see the name of Erin Burnett's show "Out Front" because she never had any "front" sticking out that you could notice.
DeleteDecent interview, but you interrupted Frank a few times again.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the sponsor. You should try getting other folks from KTVU on your show, like Sal Castenada or Mark Ibanez.
ReplyDeleteThey have (some) class.

ReplyDeleteexactly, the legal liability is too great be it interns or alcohol

A few thoughts for Frank:

Glad to see Frank is healthy and sharp
ReplyDeleteI hope one of the Bay Area stations hires Frank. I think it would work out well.
ReplyDeleteThanks Frank!
