I think Liz Cook should be given KTVU’s 10 o’clock top spot. She’s being wasted on KPIX. She’s young, so maybe there are kids at home, which explains her hours. She has the chops, the skills, can read well and speaks well. I used to think her a little uptight, but she has loosened up and looks pretty relaxed these days. From my standpoint, best anchor in the greater Bay Area.
I'll tell ya Rich, and I do agree with you about Liz Cook, but for me, there is a "new girl in town" at KPIX, and her name is Veronica Macias! She is an anchor/reporter, and when she is anchoring, well, let's just say she has a very much commanding presence! Quite frankly, I admit to being enamored with her, as there is just "something" about her that I admit, could probably cure my "ED"!
Not to even mention her extremely bizarre fashion sense, she will always be a lightweight, she's reached the pinnacle of her capabilities. Is this why their 5:00 pm is 50% weather?
Rich, now that Zoe Mintz has made it 3 months in KPIX as far as the airwaves, plus weekdays and there were 2-3 days filling in, would you mind giving your take on her?
I believe she has made the weather enjoyable thus far. This week she kind of went on Darren’s old route. Evenings, then Thursday morning (after the 5PM newscast on Wednesday). On a good note they’re doing a better job by keeping Darren Peck at 5 days and giving him 2 days off rather than pushing him over every timeslot on so many consecutive days.
Liz is beautiful and captivating. She's terribly underrated and deserves to be on primetime.

Liz is great, a nice balance of when to be uptight but deliver the news professionally and joke and be lighthearted especially with Paul Heggen.
