  2. So far, CBS 24/7 has a national feel to it. Like Rich said, everything feels clean and fresh. I'll have to tune in later to see how much local news they cover.

Prediction on who joins CBS 24/7: Heather Holmes and Dion Lim.

  5. The streaming service makes stars, it does not hire them.
Therefore, no known "name" reporters or anchors will be on the stream.

  6. I also heard KYW does this too - in fact they also followed suit with Virtual Weather & news. My prediction is that as the years go on, all CBS O & O stations will slowly go that route.

I’ve only seen Jessica Burch & Zoe Mintz do the weather there. I wonder why can’t Darren Peck be on CBS 24/7 once in a while? His past ego issues on the morning show could have to do with it?

Yes you do have Zoe but if you got someone out a whole week, rotate the two at different times so long as the main folks are not out.

Reed & Jules do a great job there. It’s so cool.

  8. Thanks for the tip. I found CBS 24/7 using my CBS News AppleTV app. No San Francisco broadcast at the moment. There's a news story playing from a guy from CBS Baltimore or Washington(DC). Meanwhile, Betty Yu and Mibach seem to anchoring the local evening news this week. I wonder if KPIX is contantly going to float a different female weekday evening anchor every week since J. Haener has left.

    1. So basically at the early hours here Eastern Time, I think KYW anchors and morning meteorologist will do their version of it.

At 10AM Pacific Time for a full hour, KPIX anchor Reed Cowan (Even Juliette Goodrich did the same last week) would anchor the National segment from the KPIX studios & Jessica Burch (or Zoe Mintz) will do the National weather.

I’d like to see Darren Peck on this one day too. He does have ego issues too but I think he (and yes Paul Heggen) can do the National Weather too. Maybe a week Jessica Burch is off (but not Paul Heggen in the evening) they should rotate Zoe & Darren just so neither of them has to work 7 days a week, it’ll either be 4 or 5 days for them. This will prevent any potential burnout. KNTV does something similar except Rob Mayeda can sub 2 days and it can be rotated other days to Cintia and Vianey. Morning has only been Cintia and Vianey as a fill in.

  10. Whenever something big happens, since I do not have cable tv, I turn on CBSN as it used to be known when it first debuted. It is very much like CNN, in that they operate 24/7 with a national version, which is the one I watch, and local versions, such as what Rich is referring to with this post. The national version is very good much in the classic way CNN was when they first started decades ago, in that CBS is there whenever something big happens, probably the most recent big event was when Trump was shot. CBS was there live, so being able to have a good source of live news, is great when one doesn't have cable tv.

  11. What a $hit Show KCBS South Bay startup today. It sounded like they were talking with tin cans. They can't ever do the regular station properly so why start this?
