Warren and CBS Bay Area: They Try Harder; Black Rock Impressed

  1. No surprise that you would be enamored by this Warren individual. You are both unkept slobs. Lieberman, you are a fence-sitter. A coward of the worst magnitude. This flip-flopping is so disingenuous and pretentious.

    1. Scott Warren has shown that he can spend money but not that he can improve ratings. CBS just got sold. Every bottom line will be examined in the takeover and his does not look good. He has an expiration date. Never makes it past 3 years anywhere.

  2. I disagree Rich. The weather set is distracting and just smoke and mirrors. The rotating list of inexperienced reporters is comical at this point. It's a sinking ship and has been for years.

    1. It looks ridiculous. I defy anyone who watches to tell me what the weather is tomorrow. You get lost in the wandering of the weather people amd can't focus on anything.

  3. Nice commentary and 100 percent true !

  4. The weather set is overkill. The weather segment runs twice as long as it should and part of the reason for that is because of the weather set itself. Gotta have those bells and whistles no matter how gratuitous they are...

  5. Will next episode return to the KPIX revolving door, missing in action reporters/anchors, young inexperienced staff, and how unjustly Betty Yu was treated by an arrogant egotistical News Director directly under this guy you glorify? They lost Yu to KTVU due to their incompetence in managing a good work environment I was gleaning from your past spiels. WTF is the truth about KPIX now as you are all over the place it seems to me?

  6. CBS 5 field reporters looks like they're fresh out of college who don't anything about the Bay Area.

  7. Slightly different topic.....Dear KCBS: PLEASE keep Raquel Maria Dillon OFF the air as an anchor....have never heard worse....

  8. I like the weather set at KPIX. It’s better than the typical regular weather set that you see on every other channel. Pix had a strong morning show going on until Nicole left. Now it’s unwatchable. Solid evening newscast with Cook and Goodrich leading the way. Then you have Donchey finishing it off strong with her show.
    Don't change the channel.

  9. There's no problem with Ryan Yamamoto's voice. The good thing about R.Y. is that HE has no problem with his voice. He seems comfortable with himself. He's not hung up about making his voice as deep or deeper than others, and he doesn't do the kind of absurd "voice acting" that some other local anchors do (looking at you, Grant Loads)

  10. KPIX has now moved the Virtual weather set to 7 days a week which now limits Brian Hackney (i.e. if Darren is off maybe Paul Heggen, Jessica or Mary may fill in).

Zoe Mintz was doing Darren Peck’s weekday duties on Tuesday while Darren was there Wed-Fri.

It sounds like they’re working to ensure someone can cover live at all hours while utilizing the Virtual 3D set. In addition to that, one problem is how do you know what days are designated First Alert Weather days? The tube needs to be a little refined to have this otherwise just stop with First Alert weather permanently.
