At least we could see some hot Chinese drama chicks in the background rather than the infamous pile of clean or dirty laundry high atop the dresser! I am fine with no interpretation though curious about the captions at the bottom. Was the Chinese show actually in English?
Hi Rich, I have to disagree with you on your take regarding Andy Baggarly. I covered the Giants with him for a couple of years and he wasn't a cheerleader. He has broken a lot of stories, including the Giants hiring Bob Melvin. He has beaten the Chronicle's Susan Slusser consistently. (I would say she definitely fits the mold of a cheerleader. Trust me on that.) Everyone has an ego in this business. And since you last covered the Giants, there are no free hot dogs in the press box. You have to pay for meals in the press lounge. Other than that, good post today.
Dion was on maternity leave. Hate to break it to you mouse haters, but Disney has excellent benefits, especially when it comes to family baby/bonding time. Those who brashly bash should check their facts. But that wouldn't be any fun, would it?
Tim Kawakami appears to be a lightening rod for derision and scorn. Generally, where there is smoke, there is fire. I rarely hear from/about Baggerly, but wearing team colors is a little too Fan Boy from my perspective. My guess is the shirt comes out one day a year.
Slightly off-topic.....but we occasionally watch A's games on TV. And we wonder HOW their TV play-by-play person JENNY CAVNAR qualified for her job??? She has the absolute WORST broadcast voice I've EVER heard......high-pitched, annoying, the worst...
You can tell Jenny does her homework, but her voice is a bit soft. As someone who has the TV broadcast in the background, her voice isn't loud enough when I'm slightly away from the TV.
Baggarly is a phony, arrogant twit. And a shameless shill for SFG.
ReplyDeleteDo you know him personally? That is an inaccurate comment.
DeleteI had an unpleasant interaction with him, yes.

ReplyDeleteRich appears to be a connoisseur of KTSF.

I'm not a Giants fan, but I think their reporters are all not bad.
ReplyDeleteHaven’t seen Dion Lim on Circle 7 recently. Maybe the next MIA on the local news scene.
ReplyDeleteDion Lim is probably sought after by many networks. Circle 7 is fortunate to still have her.
DeleteI don't remember which day D. Lim was on but I saw her within the last week.
DeleteDion was on maternity leave. Hate to break

Dion was on Saturday and tonight.

Slusser is head cheerleader.
ReplyDeleteShe knew her stuff as the A's beat writer.
DeleteAbsolutely spot on. She has always been a homer, going back to her days covering the A's.

DeleteI completely agree. Very pitchy voice. I cannot watch the telecasts.
DeleteHow about Kate Scott her voice was cringe worthy every hear her broadcast 76ers bsk game. Wonder what the reaction in a major market is like?
DeleteThe all time worse is Beth Mowins of Espn that accent is hard to listen to.
