  2. KPIX is wearing a "Kick Me" sign and appears to be a magnet for all of the fakers, phonies, fuckers and frauds. Everyone is a victim and butthurt. You have DEI retards wrenching on commercial aircraft and everyone is suffering some form of anxiety. This country is fucked! Yes, ageism is real and since we live in a litigious society, Finney may be deserving of his "Pot O Gold" or at the very least some nice shut-up and go-away settlement. Give em Hell Rich!

  3. Well Betty’s KPIX Twitter has been deleted so I’m guessing she is done!

Makes sense since Amanda Hari from KRON is now at KPIX reporting…..

  4. Does anyone seriously think Yu would return to KPIX? LOL

    1. Everyone (including probably you) said the same thing about Hackney.

  5. From a CBS colleague:
You’re right about Betty being the MVP of PIX. As you surmised, she has been recovering and restoring her health since the beginning of the year. While her station cannot legally comment about the situation, everything is legally approved. When she surfaces, viewers will be reminded of her reputation as a solid reporter/anchor.

  6. Bye bye Betty, next Andrea Borba, Dennis O Donnell disappear without saying good bye to viewers.

    1. Thank God not Hackney! Had it been that would have a different effect on the weather staff.

Also what happened to Lesla Gooden?

  7. Betty Yu could move across the bay at the "firm" KTVU FOX 2

  8. Please refrain from asserting that Betty Yu had a medical issue and that her 3+ month absence is related to said medical issue. There is zero evidence or information to corroborate that, and suggesting so is preposterous and laughable. I work at PIX and have been commenting since January that most everyone here had varying degrees of doubts about her story, with many saying that she's outright full of shit.

We saw the writing on the wall leading up to her disappearance when she was available less and less and generally seemed much less interested in work. Within the building, this change in vibe and mental presence was widely noticed and very apparent to those of us who work around her.

Ironically, even before Yu went MIA, there were some who said they were beginning to get VDLC, Andrea Borba, and Maria Medina vibes from Yu, suggesting something felt weird, akin to how things felt before those three all eventually took similarly strange leaves only to leave PIX (in the case of VDLC and Borba, never returning to PIX's air after their leaves). Leading up to their individual leaves, it became more and more apparent those three were burning out and were beginning to "check out." And in the case of Yu, there was a certain vibe she was exuding toward the end of 2023 that felt eerily reminiscent of those three.

And then comes very early-January 2024 when Yu posted a single social media post of a non-identifiable arm with an IV in it, with a vague, one-sentence caption like 'what a way to start the year.' It's true Yu isn't obligated to share any of her personal health information with anyone, much less on social media. It's also true that we were expected to make all kinds of inferences and leaps and bounds from that one photo and one-sentence caption, the most ridiculous of which is that her entire 3+ month absence was somehow tied to that random photo in early January.

Betty Yu supporters and apologists can reply however they choose and say whatever they want, but everything I’ve shared is 100% factual and nothing will change that.

    1. Betty Yu lives for IG likes. I find it strange a social media darling goes silent instead of seeking sad faces. My 2 cents.

    2. Maria Medina’s son passed away, she came back to work and decided to leave the business more than a year later. To clump her into a group of people with “strange leaves” means 1) you don’t work for KPIX otherwise you’d be very familiar with what happened and 2) you’re not a true journalist otherwise you’d get your facts right. Go ahead and describe taking leave for a kid’s death “strange,” 8:18. Pathetic. This blog is full of people who just yap away with no evidence to support their gossip.

  12. To think. Cal Ripken played 2,131 consecutive games. He ended the streak by choice. Wimps.

  13. There's a growing suspicion at PIX regarding Betty Yu, which explains the utter lack of details about her ongoing MIA status. Apparently, she has communicated with pretty much no one, and when she does communicate, she intentionally provides different details to various individuals, aiming to prevent information leaks by ensuring that no one knows if they're the sole possessor of that particular story or set of details. This tactic allows her to pinpoint exactly who to blame if specific information does leak out. Confidentially, she has shared with a select few of her close industry allies that such practices are commonplace in her culture, particularly among elders.

That strategy is from 'The Art of War'; it's one of the oldest tricks in the book.
