  1. 6:00 pm to 9:00pm is the only good part at KNBR.

    1. Is that when there's dead air? Ever hear of the saying, "Silence is golden"?

  2. Copes has a good personality, but his incessant laughter overwhelms any intelligent content he may or may not be bringing to the show. Since being PM, he's missed several days, especially after the Super Bowl. Cutting Marty's time sucks, but it may be a cost cutting decision from higher up.

  3. Copes, like his dad (the Ronn Owen’s suck up) is useless, total affirmative action hire. Give me real talent: Clarence Thomas, Condoleezza Rice, etc

    1. 11:45 AM LOL. Talk about affirmative action. Token GOP hires there.

  4. “Copey-dopes” screwed over Marty Lurie’s schedule because he had to justify to Cumulus that he was worth the extra ten grand he was given to become KNBR’s PD. He had to show his clueless bosses at.’Cumulitus’
, ( most of them pencil-pushers, “ consultants” 🤣 and BS spewing sakes people,) that he made some kind of a move, any move.

  5. I thoroughly enjoy tuning in to Copeland's 2-6 show with Tolbert. Moreover, if your assertion that Copes is indeed accountable for diminishing Marty Lurie's role holds true, then my admiration for him (Copes) only grows stronger. While I do not question Lurie's expertise and enthusiasm for baseball, I've been vocal about my belief that KNBR should chart a new course. Sometimes, change becomes imperative, and I'm pleased that Copes has taken action to reduce Lurie's presence, if not entirely remove him from the airwaves. Change, in my view, is a positive force. It's essential to remember that while Copes, as the program director, bears responsibility for implementing this change, it's not as if he woke up one morning and whimsically decided to cut ties with Lurie. Decisions of this magnitude typically evolve over time, and unfortunately for Copes, he's the one who must bear the brunt of the final verdict.

    1. You are right, KNBR needs to chart a new course! Start by giving Murph and Lund and Copes and Tolbert their walking papers! Their opinions are almost as well informed as those of 6th graders. I tried to give these lumps a decent shot, but they only reinforced my assessment that their programs are about as educational as a toilet paper commercial.
KNBR is a train wreck - it will soon qualify as a toxic superfund site.

  6. I love that Murph thinks he is a good coach and his kid could only make the Water Polo team where nobody gets cut. Murph would of put a wig on his kid and have him tryout for the girls team as plan B.

    1. Good One !!
Murph must have photos of somebody in a “compromising position”. He sure as hell is not employed because of his “talent”.

  7. Lurie had a much better relationship with the previous Giants regime Farhan isn't a fan.
Lurie isn't paid by Cumulus he is paid by his own sponsors he pays KNBR to be on air...
Anyone would know this is you did a little research.

  8. You mean the River Islands’ swamp land development sponsorship which he promotes and reportedly visits all the time. Great area I read for mosquitos, little infrastructure for even getting in /out, few grocery/dining/shopping options, services when available provided mostly by crime ridden Lathrop, etc. What a joke to sell that. His baseball knowledge is off the charts but Rich should interview him and ask why he needs that shit hole development’s sponsorship.

  9. I'm glad to see Marty's role being minimized, with hopes for its complete elimination in the near future. While he undeniably possesses extensive knowledge of baseball, especially regarding bygone eras, he isn't the sole enthusiast of Giants baseball. Numerous individuals share a passion for the sport and offer their distinct insights, perspectives, and styles. As demographics evolve, it's natural for stations to adjust to these changes and embrace new directions reflective of shifting realities.

Pass the torch to the next generation of Giants broadcasters and let Marty ride off into the sunset to enjoy his retirement in the River Islands' swamp land that he promotes like crazy.
