I tuned in KCBS TO GET A GOOD REPORT ON THE STORMS, roads closed, flooding, power outages etc- I got a little of what I wanted but mostly horseshit! Keep at them Rich!
Hey dumbass, the sky was falling. Flooding, power outages, downed trees and in some spots, hurricane force winds. One friend in an apartment building had her living room window blow out. Knock it off with your fake news shit.
Thanks for calling out Professional Grift & Extortion (PG&E). Even if someone tried to do real investigative journalism and expose them for the frauds they are, all they (PG&E) will do is spew the same buzzwords and talking points that their ridiculous commercials are saturated with....safe....reliable...community...affordable....green....blah, blah, blah. There is zero accountability for these crooks. When they're held financially liable for the murder and destruction they've caused, they offset the penalties by raising our rates, often far exceeding their legal costs. If only there was a viable alternative for the average middle class taxpayer who can't afford to install solar.
Bravo !! We get rate increases yet PG&E was not prepared for the storm - even though we were warned for days that the winds would be intense. The crews were getting paid, yet where were they? I say we raise hell whenever PG&E says they need more money - evidently they need to stop advertising and get to work.
Many of the municipal utilities have better systems like Roseville or Sacramento. Even the Warren Buffet owned utility in our state (NVEnergy) is more reliable and cheaper then PG&E. My kid who still lives in the Bay Area call 'em "Pacific Gas and Rip-off." PG&E only cares for their investors and f**K the customers.
KCBS is so far in the toilet, unless something happens at the Walnut Creek fountain, it's non-stop traffic/weather 24/7.
If your benchmark for excellence in the delivery of power department is Sacramento's or Roseville, be advised that long outages have prevailed in both.
It sounded very amateur-ish this morning. The anchor sounded like she was running the whole show by herself from her garage. There were awkward pauses while she was trying to find the right button to push. It the only show in town, so it's bearable for now.
I too was listening to KCBS AM over-the-air Sat 2/4/23 when suddenly the signal went dead at approx 5PM with a slight carrier hum. I waited but didn't bother to check if there was a 106.7 FM signal. Around 5:20PM I decided to see if there was an online signal streaming---Yes, with routine traffic/weather at 5:28 & 5:38 & 5:48 etc. Sometime around 5:50PM the AM signal returned. What an unattended mess-up.
Speaking of weather guessers. I tuned to the LA stations to monitor the storm down there, good lord talk about HOT weather forecasters. Geez I’m stunned. What can be done to bring in talent like THAT to the Bay? Ratings would skyrocket.

You’ve become a real pro at hacking and manipulating phlegm to levels reached only by Michael Savage and that crazy radio owner MZ in Santa Cruz. Why don’t you just spit into mic already?
Instead of complaining about the local stations, why don’t you go after the companies that own them? They are the ones who’ve slashed budgets to the point where decent talent can’t be hired. Wonder why there’s no permanent morning team on KCBS? It’s because the parent company doesn’t want to pay. Stop trashing the poor folks who are doing the best they can. They are not the villains in this story.
Into the first weekend of February, Brian Hackney is NOT back, and neither is Betty. Yes gotta be patient but honestly at this point I have no hope Hackney will be back.
As expected as the weather was bad, Paul Heggen was pre-recorded for Saturday as there was no impact during the day and Sunday morning he was live (no jeans, but the tieless look like almost every other Monday/any pick during a certain week). Quite interesting of those mic bloopers at the 6:30 hour but smiled and said Good Morning.
More than who is there and who isn’t is that Paul Heggen & Darren Peck did a fantastic job covering the storms with an in depth explanation on their Web extras. Darren was on a normal set but Paul virtual but as much as he did great on this, it was actually admittently a little too long to the point where I had a little hard time following the flow. Paul did a great job with the right time, precision and flow in a direct way.

Rich, your total lack of understanding when it comes to current economic climate for radio is astonishing. These aren’t not for profit organizations that can ask for donations when they run out of money. Are there things KCBS can do to improve their product? Of course there is! However, you must also understand the product! The average listener tunes in for 17 - 22 minutes per day. That’s why stories repeat. KCBS isn’t designed for 24/7 listening. Also, make up your mind! Face the Nation is covering the Middle East and you’re complaining? You have gone from constructive criticism to chronic, obsessive bitching now. I think you need to take a break and listen to some jazz.
Just trying to get attention again, you narcissist? Or were you torqued because you couldn't have hot Nescafe because you lost power? You can solve that -- talk to the coffee. You have enough hot air to melt Antarctica. You have no idea how bad this storm was. It's hard to restore power during 90 mph winds and constantly pouring rain. This was one of the worst storms we've had in about 30 years. There are so many factors involved. Why don't you try to work on a utility crew and restore power on a real bad weather day? You couldn't handle it. You'd be screaming for your Nescafe and shitting in your pants. All you do is sit on your fat bald ass and criticize, something you are very good at. All hot air with no solutions. It's your blog so you can do whatever you want. But this constant criticism without bringing solutions to the table is getting old -- and I'm talking about your venting at local media. Everyone knows they all suck. Nothing will change any time soon, sorry to burst your bubble. Tell us something we don't know. You ever hear of the fat bald guy crying wolf? Congrats! You are now at that point. Go break another mirror by looking at it.
Rich, don’t let the haters and naysayers and miserable trolls get you down. Most of us appreciate what you do, enjoy your videos, and don’t bring any negative energy or negative comments to your site. Keep up the great work.
KCBS has gone from shit-show traffic & weather together repeated every 10 minutes to Fake News.
