I heard a local team football team is in some kind of championship game in Las Vegas in a couple of weeks. Time to see a bunch of grown men acting childish prancing around wearing jerseys with another man’s name on the back and getting defensive when confronted about it. So silly.
So KTVU had the 9ers game on, then their post game Fox2 show lacked detailed analysis looking forward to Superbowl. It was so lacking I had to turn it off. It seemed like news reporters with a sprinkling of Sports. They should have had Bubba Paris on again, but it sounds like Fox ran out of money.
Bailey O'Carroll performed exceptionally well. You could see blossoming into the sports anchor role before our very eyes. If KTVU ever decides to designate a full-time sports anchor to fill the void left by Mark Ibanez, I believe Bailey would be an excellent choice. She exudes star power and enthusiasm, resonating with the typical sports viewer. While Jason Applebaum and Joe Fonzi have their strengths, it's unlikely that either will become the primary sports anchor. If either were remotely qualified for the role, they would have likely been promoted months ago, if not sooner.
"...then their post game Fox2 show lacked detailed analysis looking forward to Superbowl. It was so lacking I had to turn it off."
You mean that legendary reporter who has already left an indelible mark on journalism, Bailey O'Connor or whatever her name is, didn't deliver the goods?
"Wow, that was exciting" was about all I got out of it.
Yes, watching KTVU anchors telling us about past experiences watching a 49ers’ win or reporters interviewing drunk fans with unbridled enthusiasm was not my cup of tea either. I switched to NBC Bay Area which though not much better was focused on the game performance itself and participants’ reactions. Then, I went to VanPelt on ESPN.
2:57PM I hear where you are coming from. I agree with what you said to some extent but do enjoy watching sports. Some of the athletes whose jerseys with their names/numbers these fans have on the backs state how blessed by God they were to be the chosen ones to win (paraphrasing but that is what it comes down to). Some of the fan reactions are similar. Good luck lady bugs are ok to entertain for superstition by fans and athletes like Brandon Aiyuk. However, why do athletes imply or explicitly state God is good because they won? Wow, aren’t those athletes and their teammates all special compared to the loser opponents apparently. This is not only seen in sports which should just be for entertainment but in everything that divides people today in a more meaningful and impactful way. Sad.
Exactly. it's basically a screw you to your employees. it's a strategy that big companies used to silence people and try to make themselves look like they're “doing everything we can”. That station’s executive management is some of the worst in the world. The general manager has been overheard multiple times disparaging minority groups and badmouthing unions. Under Jim Rose's “leadership” the station has lost ratings, revenue and great employees. Many folks can’t stand him and can tell he is full of shit. Poor KRON.
10:22 AM, hey "little one", if KRON is unprofitable, where would the $ come from. Yes! I your in mgt your job is to artfully apply leverage. Kisses to you.
Lol. It would come from cutting other things in the budget, which is why the quality has gone down. Ratings decreased and ad market spending on the decline.
A 1% raise at KRON would barely cover 1 month’s worth of pedicures for the luscious.and dazzling Olivia Horton. Which reminds me. Olivia was out last week and the equally luscious Jessica Wills filled in. Very nice!
That show is really boring now. Olivia says the same thing every day. Just one big infomercial and a few weird community things. Feels like KRON gave up on it.
Quality wise definitely went down. It was much better when Olivia was joined by Kyla. They had fun banter together. She’s still fun to look at but the show is repetitive. They recycle stories constantly to fill in dead air.
yesterday on his knbr radio show, Greg Papa admitted he was doing the show hungover from the 'two beers' that he claimed to have after the niner's sunday night victory.
Nexstar also owns the Fox station in Kansas City and the CBS station in Las Vegas. Could their Las Vegas station cover the game for both KRON and the KC station?
A 1% increase is a good increase when a company isn't profitable. Best about a capitalistic society is if you don't like it, you can find a new role elsewhere. Mind you, it may pay less, but that "IS" your market value :-)
an unprofitable company gives us a one percent increase by cutting other things in the budget. Have you not seen the quality of KRON go down again? ;) it's a very sad state of affairs
Me like football. Nom nom nom

ReplyDeleteB-b-but one of them is Tay-Tay's team........
DeleteUsually the most unathletic, the fattest, the ones who never played any sport are the most fervent “die hards”
Delete7:15 you are 100% correct and that's mostly their wives

Wonder why KTVU did not air the 49ers pre game show on either of their channels instead of airing non related programming. It aired online.

I usually tune to ESPN’s SVP right after the game his post game is pretty good. Fox sucks
DeleteGreg Papa will be drunk all over Vegas representing the 49ers with class.
ReplyDeleteSo will Jon Lund... Stumbling around repeating "You're right Greg" & "Like you said Greg". Let's go hit on some younger women."
DeleteMaybe he'll invite fellow drunks Ibanez and Radnich, both with a sweetie in tow, but not their wives.
DeleteWill the Thrill, I think FP wants in on that!
Delete"KRON staff gets 1% pay raise." File that under "Why bother?"

DeleteTwo weeks of hearing about the great comeback; and Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce. Bring on pitchers and catchers report.

DeleteNo more gays on that show
DeleteI miss Kyla on the show it's so dull now without her

ReplyDeletePapa drinks like a fish. Don't believe me? Go to any bar in the Walnut Creek, Danville, Tri-Valley area and talk to the bartenders and regulars.
Delete@10:42- Are you sure Greg Papa wasn't just joking when he said that though?
DeleteWould be interesting to see if KRON4 will send any staff to Las Vegas to cover the 49ers Super Bowl. Nexstar can be cheap in spending...
ReplyDeleteNexstar also owns the Fox station in Kansas City and the CBS station in Las Vegas. Could their Las Vegas station cover the game for both KRON and the KC station?

DeleteLieberman bitching about the 49ers winning while obsessing about his personal health problems. Poor baby.
ReplyDeleteHe may be gone before Kristen Sze. Oh the irony.
DeleteTime to send Swift songs to Lieberman.
ReplyDeleteThe BIG QUESTION: Will Greg Papa wake up beside a high priced Vegas call girl, and still retain his trusty side piece Lund?
ReplyDeletePapa shouts touchdownnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn as he achieves his happy ending as Johnny boy sits and watches
