Monday Coffee/Deli Schmooze; Post-Kapler Firing News Front Lousy; KNBR-Copeland Yucky; KRON Mandatory Meeting Friday; Feinstein Passing Brings Out Internet Schmucks; PIX Boss Scott Warren Potential CBS King?; KCBS-Feinstein Goofiness; Must Have Traffic and Weather No Matter What; George Devine JR/USF Dons Broadcast Request

MONDAY...

The post-Gabe Kapler era could have been a lot more compelling, especially on fanboy KNBR, state radio for Giants central.

Did the knibbers try to arrange for a Kap interview? NO and Kap was ready to talk today, (Monday)

Turns out he producer decided to take a three-day trip to Vegas.

*As the Kapler firing broke Friday aftrernoon, Adam Copeland announced it over 15 times --in a period of about two minutes. I guess Copie was factoring in the theory that KNBR's demo is half brain dead.

*The KRONvoicts have a "must-attend" meeting set for this Friday and that's not good news, believe me.

*Dianne Feinstein had barely taken her last breath before some of the nimrods began inundating me, (and others) with political/personal shots. Timing is everything in this world, except to the morons who can't escape Internet behavior.

*A LOCAL broadcast media guy with passion and street cred, former KGO/ABC7 news honcho, George Devine Jr, a play-by-play voice that is USF-rooted and should be the voice of Dons basketball, but isn't. Why? I don't have a clue.

*TWICE last Friday when news of Feinstein's passing aired, KCBS cut short interviews of Willie Brown and Sen. Barbara Boxer, so they culd get to "traffic and weather." Yes, KCBS is run by utter useless, idiotic FOOLS.

*Brown himself and Phil Matier could have done an hour pn KCBS but the yenta who runs the station has about as much news prowess as a blind canary.

*Good people no matter their political stripes: Feinstein and John McCain.

*Scott Warren, the GM at KPIX, could probably run CBS at Black Rock. Wait a minute...

*Was probably NOT good optics for a group of news execs from Circke7 to be hoisting lots of vodka shots midday Friday at a local saloon post Feinstein-death news, but there they were.

*Two indelible SF figures in the 1980's and 90's: Feinstein and Herb Caen.

*If KTVU were smart, they would RUN and seek out Bay Area TV News ND vet, Janice Gin, but KTVU and The Firm are also brain dead.

So they're acting like every left leaning liberal I see on social media when something happens to a right leaning 'name' yet with excessively more snark. As the kids say, #shockednotshocked.

    1. Spot on! Great post.

    2. Rich, I have had the opportunity to meet every S.F. Mayor since Alioto. Excluding Mark Farrell who was a six month appointee. Feinstein was my least favorite. Let's make a deal. I will get off Feinstein when you get off Jan Wahl. I am not a "left leaning liberal" or a "right leaning" fascist. Just a citizen with an opinion.

    3. Rich: Your tribute to Diane Feinstein was outstanding, from the heart, humanizing, with class, ignore those ignoramus, they will never show class even for the departed

    4. 10:46 & 11:24--
Unlike you Trumptards. You don't need to make asses of yourself...because your Orangutan-in-Chief insists on doing so himself. He's doing a HELLUVA job, by the way.

    5. 8:20 proves 10:46's example. Thank you for coming through.

  2. "Traffic and weather" are infinitely more important and relevant to the masses nowadays than anything that spews out of the mouth of Willie Brown or Barbara Boxer. Their time is up, our time is now. They are both part of the reason why the Bay Area is in the current state it is in....amongst others (subject matter included).

    1. T&W are the only things that the average person listens to KCBS to hear.

  3. One only has to look at the legacy left by these politicians decades later to see their impact on the world. Hundreds of millions in personal net worth while playing everyone else against each other while they are all struggling to survive. Where do I sign up?

  4. I don't always agree with your opinions but i respect you for always putting your name behind them, unlike the internet swamp creatures who bash you.

  5. If some caustic conservative tongues were wagging, regarding Feinsteins passing...call it reciprocity and reporting inconvenient and undeniable truths about the departed. That's it. Deal with it!

The Giants created their own "wallow". A fetid pit of treachery, deceit, hubris and blind ignorance. Kind of like the meat puppets running this country. The Giants ran pellmell into the DEI/Woke buzzsaw and it cost them dearly. They forgot one important thing. Their Legacy. The pride that comes associated with wearing that uniform. We have a storied franchise with a rich history, though you wouldn't know it. Post Bochy it has taken on the guise of a Dollar Tree Brothel. Can it be fixed? Sure can! Just remember: Salvation lies within. Selah.

  6. Kind of seems like you’re complaining about throwing stones in a glass house as this is gossip column who dumps on people with open wounds, don’t get me wrong I enjoy the dump feast.

  7. Copeland is an obnoxious freight train out of control. The WORST,
and why is he still there? And what about bringing back Ray Ratto, such refreshing contrast to the others, he should replace Copeland Crap.

    1. Ratto sub for Copeland a month or so guess he is in good standing at KNBR.

  8. RICH, I am thankful KNBR did not have Kapler on to be interviewed, post firing. I listened to his empty words for a few years of pre-game - the guy could say nothing of any value in 10 minutes. Kapler was a babbler. He tried to sound intelligent, he isn’t. He liked to throw in a few big words, which for me was a source of hilarity (and scorn!)
Good riddance to bad rubbish. I only wished the Giants would have canned him 1.5 seasons ago. His use of position players in lieu of pitchers when a game was out of reach was Bush-League, and he lost the entire pitching staff the first time he did it, let alone the sixth time.
Aside from this gripe about the sh*t-canned Skipper, fine column today Rich.

    1. Had a great 1st season even with the kneeling, 2nd season seems like he wants to be a social warrior more than paying attention to the team, I've already said he's a knucklehead and under his guidance the Giants will go nowhere this season, Giants were smart to let him go

    2. I agree. Kapler was as bad on the pre-game show as a game strategist and manager.

  9. My anxiety level is high. I’m hoping the luscious beauty that is Olivia Horton is not on the firing line come this KRONVICT meeting on Friday. Quality wise Live in the Bay! has definitely gone down. But Horton remains must see tv what a beauty! One major complaint: full body shots have almost disappeared…MAJOR RATINGS BUSTER!

    1. Olivia is HOT but the show has gone to hell. She replayed the same “Mustang Mach E” segment she did yesterday. Really? Is content that limited? Terrible

  10. Guess KNBR,CsnBayarea and even MLB Network did nor seem it important to air the news conference of firing. Guess informercials were more important for CSNBA

    3. Sports are truly silly and plain old gladatorial entertainment. But they serve a purpose: to get our minds off politics, the kids’ school projects, the wife’s need of a nice vacation, the boss’ bellyaching. Sure, they are a mindless diversion, just like 98% of the TV programs, but they serve their purpose.

  12. John McCain's life was a bit more colorful than DiFi's. He dumped the loyal wife who had stood by him through his POW years, for a hot rich young blonde less than 2/3 his age. And later, crooked S&L owner Charles Keating treated the McCains to multiple private jet trips to his private Bahamas resort. Which is currently something we frown upon.
