Publicly
, Anne Makovec is a good soldier; the K
PIX anchor is resolute with her slight-primetime presence at KPIX. She understands
Juliette Goodrich and
Liz Cook aren't going anywhere anytime soon. She knows the pecking order.
But Anne also knows, ( thinks at least) that her time has come. She wants to be considered for a more prominent placement --and NOT just
PIXPlus--Makovec wants 5,6, and/or 11 PM.
That aij't happening anytime soon at CBS Bay Area.,
Could Anne bolt 855 Battery and look elsewhere in the market? Sure, if there's outside interest.
Paging NBC Bay Area, KRON? just a few.
KRON and KNTV don't need her...not as an anchor. Both are set. and KRON would be a demotion to be honest.
ReplyDeleteShe can have some of Gasia’s Honey Glazed Christmas Ham.
DeleteSlap the Ham!!!
Anne has been the fill-in and "stunt" anchor too long. She has been kicking the can against the KPIX curb far too long. She deserves better and hopefully that opportunity will present itself. Being continually passed over in lieu of lesser talent has got to be both infuriating and painful. I hope she lands a new gig elsewhere.
ReplyDeleteAnne Makovec would be a good addition at KRON. She can replace Pam Moores anchor chair or heck she can move "diva" Darya off the morning news...
ReplyDeleteI agree with 3:06. KRON would be a demotion.
DeleteMaybe she should consider Vegas. I was just there and the anchors I saw were pretty awful.
As long as I have a face she has a place to sit.
DeleteVegas wages for TV news folks are pathetic. Basically, it's the same wages offered back when Vegas was pretty affordable. But Clark County has exploded in growth--and so have housing prices. Unfortunately, TV news salaries have pretty much remained the same.
DeleteSorry to ask, Anne M who?
ReplyDeleteName sounds familiar, but I do not think I have seen her in action.
That’s because Anne, like Veronica DeLa Cruz and Emma Goss, is on “stress leave” 90% of the time.
DeleteExactly.
DeleteUm, she has never been on "stress leave" and has been reporting on KPIX for years now, first on the mornings, now eveningside. What planet are you on?
DeleteLove Anne Makovec, ultimate professional, just watched her and enjoyed every minute @ CH 44, 8:45 9/21/23
ReplyDeleteAgreed. I used to work with her many years ago when she was a morning reporter, and I can tell you she is every bit as nice and down-to-earth as she comes across on air. And that's fairly rare in the business.
DeleteI’ve seen her fill in for primetime and now I am happy she is on the Primetime Edition more. Well deserved for her. One time she filled in for Sara at 11pm and was very professional and I enjoyed her delivery of the news.
DeleteKPIX would be smart for her to also do 11PM too.
She makes Donchey look like the immature giggling kewel Millennial that she is. Anne is so professional; Sara's an embarrassment. What does PIX see in her?
DeleteLove AM
Delete@1:49pm - I don’t see a good future for Donchey here. Field reporter sure but she should go back to LA where I am sure she is loved since its her hometown.
DeleteAnne Makovec is great. I believe last September she filled in on a Sunday evening and she has also filled in on some weekend mornings. Just professional & a great anchor. I even enjoy her Project Earth stories.
I think KTVU has openings on its West Coast Crap half hour, or is it a full hour segment now?, for anchors getting “no respect” like Alex Savage and Heather Holmes. I mean what the f. They even throw in stories from such on their regular local news, like just now at News at 11, about Seattle. It used to be just added Fox Sacramento sister station news for filler on our local newscasts but now they think they are CNN. I am numb to the depressing nightly news on Oakland and SF; but why should I care what is going on in their West which covers South and North of us, and west from as far as the Rocky Mountains? What other Bay Area station does this? Who replaced Amber Eileen as News Director? This nut needs to go to as the ship is still sinking big time.
ReplyDeleteAnne Makovec just needs to smell the coffee, meaning that she has to be made to realize that TV is a visual medium and that she does not fit as an anchor. Yes, she can read a teleprompter, which is more than the President of the US can do, but the fact is that she needs to lose the weight. No "butts" about it....
ReplyDeleteBingo
Delete*8:50pm couldn’t agree more.
ReplyDeleteUltimate professional. I just don’t want to see her waste her professionalism at KRON.
Who is she?
ReplyDeleteAnne should have been given the 9:00 pm newscast.
ReplyDeleteYES!

DeleteMy lingering memory of Anne was when she was anchoring the noon
ReplyDeletenews during the tragic UPS shooting in 2017. Probably not her fault,
but at one point, while giving an update, she said, "CNN is reporting...."
Really? You are relying on a CNN account when your station is a
15 minute drive from the actual crime scene?
I’m watching Breaking Bad and Marla Téllez had a spot on an episode. I’m so happy Marla is in LA and away from all the negativity from this blog.
ReplyDelete👍 I’ve retired to SoCal and watch Marla daily. She is good besides being a hottie.
DeleteI think Ann is a good choice for an anchor position, I’ve seen her handle the desk solo and she was a pro. I hope one of the local stations makes a good offer to retain her here.
