Something is strange going on lately with Andre Senior.
Monday Aug 21 until Tuesday Aug 29 Andre was not on air.
He came back this Wed Aug 30 & worked Wednesday and Thursday.
Today, Sept 1 at 9 am is KTVU's last Zip Trip of the Summer.
Guess What--Andre is missing! Only Gasia solo anchoring with Sal Castanda, Claudine Wong and Frank Mallicoat contributing.
I believe something is going on with Senior. Why would he show up on Monday August Aug 21 just to do the 8-9 am news block & then suddenly disappear for 8 days then suddenly come back Wed Aug 30 & Thursday 31-- then not be on air for today KTVU's last Zip Trip of the summer.
Something seems not right, especially Andre suddenly disappearing after the Monday Aug 21 8-9 am new block-missing 8 days-coming back for just 2 days this week and now absent for their last Zipper of Summer.
I actually liked Andre. He comes off like a likable guy and has more personality than that creepy Mike Mibach or that phoney waste of space Frank Malicoat but honestly I don't watch ktvu anymore, not even for Gasias epic prow as I did in past years.

ReplyDeleteHello, it's the end of summer. Maybe he took some vacation time. Sometimes a half day, or just a fee days, off can do wonders and be less stressful than taking a full solid two plus weeks.

ReplyDeleteOrdinarily i'd say it's probably summertime vacation schedules but what you've described seems odd. They've recently been promoting a new 7pm West Coast Wrap newscast with Alex S and followed by a new 7:30pm news with Heather Holmes anchoring.

I thought it was unusual for him to miss a few Zip Trips this year. Overall, Andre has been pretty good in the mornings, but I sense a little tension between him and Sal on the 9.

DeleteDarren Peck was filling in for Paul Heggen yesterday evening from 5PM to the end of the 11PM newscast. Unlike the days when Paul is there, Darren doesn't let Sara block the graphics of anything, even the 7-day forecast until he directs her to go come to the video wall when he is finished. I guess he doesn't put up with Sara's BS like Paul does.
