A
KRON Security Guard was
shot this afternoon in
Oakland; 14th and Broadway was the scene of the shooting. No word on the condition of the guard, but that person was in surgery at
Highland Hospital.
Here's the latesr from KRON.
UPDATE:
A KRON source told me the condition of the security guard is that he's in serious condition with a gunshot wound to the stomach.
UPDATE 2 5: 03 PM:
Man when I wrote that to you I was praying it wasn't my girl Teresa Estacio on the scene. Prayers for the security guard.
ReplyDeleteI hope the security guard makes a full recovery.
ReplyDeleteNot that is matters, the security guard is not a KRON employee but a hired person who works for another company, kind of like a temporary employee.
ReplyDeleteI read earlier that he was or is an off duty cop.
DeleteYou're right, it totally doesn't matter.
DeleteAnd even if you're a day hire, when you're working the shift you're still working *for* KRON.
You're right. It doesn't matter.
ReplyDeleteI'm not familiar with Amanda's work. Her bio says that she is a Syracuse graduate and was previously working in Tulsa. You're not in Oklahoma anymore, kid. I hope she recovers mentally from this ordeal. Horrible.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the update on the guard Rich. Praying for a speedy recovery. Terrible.
Surprised she's still here. This is the second incident she's had since reporting. I think she was harassed while she was doing a solo shoot not too long ago.
DeleteHopefully the guard makes a full recovery and law enforcement can catch the slug that committed the act. There are some real f'n waste of oxygen swamp creatures inhabiting the Bay Area anymore.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if Nexstar (Owners of KRON) will offer up any reward...
ReplyDeleteThe security guard employer is offering $17 Grand in rewards.
Sadly, all of the stations now have to hire security for their reporters in Oakland and other troublesome areas. It's getting out of hand and was only a matter of time before someone end up getting shot.
ReplyDeleteKRON has one little issue, saving cost and being cheap asking one staff to do everything. Not aware of the security guard, but KPIX, NBC 11 and KTVU reporters got robbed before and KTVU was on LIVE TV.
ReplyDelete"expected to survive" ain't great. and "be OK"? with a gut shot this poor man will survive with so many problems it isn't funny.....did they find the fool who shot him? shoot HIM in the stomach.
