PIX (CBS) Owns Bay Area TV News/Super Bowl Sunday But Will They Take Advantage of It? Maybe, Maybe Not

TODAY IS SUPER BOWL SUNDAY; CBS HAS THE GAME, which means KPIX rules the day from about Noon until 7: 30 or thereabouts... You'd think PIX would place its primetime news team on the desk tonight after the game and post-game but you'd be wrong. As of now, there's no Bastida/Cook show unless someone in charge takes charge and I guess that's a task these days. I'm still betting that someone at Battery and Broadway pulls in the Monday-Friday gang in-- just a hunch, I could be wrong.

    Rich like what we discussed before KPIX is such a complete mess. Most likely they will not take this chance in creating BIG numbers for Super Bowl Sunday...

    Gave up on the NFL with all the fake "wokeness".

    Just a guess, but I think they are obligated to show CBS programming right after the game (meaning that new Queen Latifah action series). So the half-hour newscast is sandwiched in between that and a special Colbert Late Show. Then there's still a regular 11pm (or later) 'cast. Maybe Bastida & Co didn't want to work twice on a Sunday nite.. and I'm sure KPIX didn't want to pay 2 different sets of anchors.

    Managers at all TV stations just barely manage to walk without scraping their knuckles on the ground. I'm not surprised. Jesus Christ could return to earth and they'd cut away to NCIS reruns.

      They all suck—I've worked at all of them except KNTV, so I admittedly can't talk about that one. TV news is one of those fields (advertising is another and social media is another) where the failures fall up, and the more incompetent you are the farther you'll fall/float, so long as you keep your nose nice and brown. KGO was once the standout—pretty good when I worked there, but Trixie, who'd just been kicked to Fresno when I showed up, returned and hijacked the place. Most of the people who made KGO great quickly went to KNTV, starting with Keeshan. Now Trixie's place is a shithole and everyone I know there is unhappy, except for Eva Perón herself. I'm genuinely surprised she never took a job at the Trump White House. She's be perfect.

      For info, I believe Julie H. is/was off from KTVU on 2/7/21, for an out-of-town equestrian event.
