FLASH...
I'VE LEARNED through a radio CBS source:
KCBS's Sports anchor, Steve Bitker, is calling it quits after 30-plus years. He'll do his last broadcast in May.
Bitker, an Alameda native and resident, also did fill-in PBP work for the Oakland A's. A replacement hasn't been announced but my guess is that it will be either Kevin Radich (currently the afternoon drive anchor) or Ted Ramey, a fill-in sports anchor and traffic reporter.
ND, Jennifer Seelig, announced the move with a memo to KCBS staff.

Now who's gonna shill for the disgusting Comcast every 20 minutes?
ReplyDeleteComcast?
DeleteWon't miss him for a minute. Now, can we dump "KCBS news time" Bunger?
ReplyDeleteKevin the Rat is a logical choice, but IMO having both him and Kim Wonderley on mornings would be rough on them. (I could be wrong.) I would guess Joe Hughes has a good chance of moving into a full-time sports slot.
ReplyDeleteJoe Hughes is beyond awful. College students sound better than him
DeleteSteve is a pro and lucky he was able to make a career out of broadcasting on radio. KCBS continues on a steep decline down the path of mediocrity
