CBS Sports' NFL Sideline Reporter, Tracy Wolfson, on KNBR 'Papa and Lund' Show; Says 'You Know' At Least 37 Times (Audio)

I didn't expect to hear anything of substance from her but I still managed to listen and I was entertained to a bizarre, almost surreal twenty or so minutes of TOTAL EMBARRASSMENT. How so?

Wolfson blurted out at least 37 "You knows", I lost count, maybe there was more. Here's the audio link, just click on Wolfson.

You'd think Wolfson were more polished and professional but you'd be wrong. I couldn't believe what I was listening to and I'm sure I'm not alone. It's unusual and startling when you consider Wolfson's work on the sideline. You wouldn't think she's that static but, you know, life has unusual moments.

You know.

So Now You Know
Spicy
You do now.

  1. like anorectic...this generation you know, like, you know can't help itself. They don't realize it makes them sound stupid, even when they, you know, like, aren't. Other offenders? uptalk where every sentence ends on an upnote as if it were a question, vocal fry which is grating, and nasally , whiny voices like Amy Covid Barrett's which would drive a man to seek a mistress..Sometimes a little nasal polyp surgery can help.

  3. It might be because Wolfson is not a fan of either Papa and especially Lund. People like John Lund wouldn't last 10 seconds in Jim Nantz's Pebble Beach circle. Lund also wouldn't last long in Tony Romo's view. And Golf Analyst Sir Nick Faldo would swat him like a fly.

  4. You're obviously old because "you know" is the way young people talk now, you know? Because, like I was sayin', you know, at how today's football players, you know, at how they're more prone, you know, to getting hurt from, you know, concussions and all that, you know?

Rich, you come from the old days where field talent didn't say, "you know," but more, "uh (dialogue) uh, (more dialogue) and, uh, uh, uh," you know?

    1. This is a comment from 45 years ago that a teacher once used on his students when they used the phrase "You know" in their speeches: "I have a question. If we know, how come you're telling us about it??"

  8. The number of adults today that start sentences with "I mean..." "I feel like"...the art of our language and the use of it is being destroyed.
