'Shaken' Adam Copeland of KNBR Plays Golf To Ward off Latest Police Injustice

AS the REVERBERRATIONS from the latest Police killing of an unarmed Black man percolate in the country, KNBR went into news-talk mode last (Wednesday) night; rightly so.

Wednesday was flush with news of almost all major sports shutting down to protest the latest indignity, chief among them, the NBA players deciding to stop their bubble play in Orlando.

They've since decided to resume post-season.

KNBR time and time again, decided to pivot to a "shaken" Adam Copeland, who told various hosts that he felt unsafe being a "black man living in San Francisco." Repeatedly. Which makes perfect sense, I get it.

Copeland was so out of whack during the emotional day, he played golf with two of KNBR's most dedicated civil rights advocates, Brian Murphy and Mark Willard. When I think of Black Lives Matter, first thing I think of is those dudes.

To be serious, I applaud Copeland for telling his listeners how anxious he felt but the idea he was so fraught with anxiety and disgust, he played golf anyway. Which I'm sure is what all of us do when it comes to showing racial solidarity.

  1. There was an arrest warrant extant for Mr. Blake. It was for sexual assault and domestic violence. There was a restraining order protecting one of the baby mommas. Mr. Blake violated it. Cops were called to help said baby momma. Mr Blake resists( he knows of arrest warrant) even when tased. Goes to car and bends down inside door. He is then shot, but survives. HIs family says now that he has a chance to fully recover, sans paralysis(doctors not talking..family has given no approval for actual medical updates) Mr. Blake admits, post shooting, that he had a knife on the driver's side of the car,on the floorboard. Perhaps Mr.Copeland remembers domestic violence in his own home, as a child?

    1. Stil...SEVEN FREAKING TIMES??? IN THE BACK????

Meanwhile, that white 17-year old Kenosha thug was allowed to walk on by THE CONVOY OF COP CARS--despite people yelling at the cops to arrest the punk as the shooter!

    2. Dear Ben, Blake admits having knife on floorboard , driver's side of car. You want cop to wait until he picks up knife and turns toward cop with same. You say "seven freaking times in the back". One of those rounds went into his arm, not his back. We don't know the precise locations of any of the other bullets. In any event, Wisconsin is an open-carry state. In the middle of a riotous mob , trying to burn and blow up a gas station and other buildings( many successfully detroyed) and a loud crowd of screaming protestor/ looters, you are sure that cops even were aware of shooter, are you? Kenosha, Wi. has a small police force. Did you know that? Protesters shouting at cops they are attacking to arrest someone else...is probably not likely to be taken all that seriously, or even heard. IF the juvenile with the ar-15 "type" weapon was on the ground and being threatened with grievous bodily injury by protesters armed with skateboards and backpacks containing incendiary devices, he doesn't lose his own right of self defense. He was too young to meet the open carry statute and can be charged with violating that statute. He won't likely be tried as an adult for anything, because( brace yourself), he isn't.

  2. So the man shot in Kenosha was "unarmed", was he?

  4. You actually made me laugh out loud with this post. Love it!

I too heard this segment last night. What a bunch of dumbassery.

I don't know what is worse. Copes segment last night with the talking head Willard or the spots KNBR has been airing all day basically telling everyone how "woke" they are and that they're keeping an eye on the updates coming out of the NBA and MLB in this "solemn time". Cringeworthy at best.

  6. Perhaps "Copie" should go vacation in Chicago for a week or so, South Side. THEN lets talk about feeling unsafe - when your own hunt you like game.

Here's a tip for Copie: Follow the lawful instructions of a police officer; don't yell, don't run, don't fight back, don't reach into your pocket for something, don't walk away when they're calling you over and reach into your car. You will be alive, I guarantee it. It's worked for white, Asian, Indian and Latinos for decades.
