SHE'S SMART, I'm sure Catherine Heenan is.But I have to wonder: how has she been able to put up with being at KRON in her sunset years? I mean, she is far more classy than KRON deserves. Or am I being too naïve?
I know a hundred percent that Heenan is content. That she knows what she's dong and that she is more than happy with her career, for the most time, at KRON and when KRON was the old KRON and not the albatross furniture station TV outlet it has evolved into.
I also know if Catherine wanted to move to another station, say, KTVU, she could have done so and they would have gladly made room for her, at least the pre-FOX KTVU days. But that was then and this is now.
Catherine Heenan reeks classy. Still does. I just wish she was somewhere other than the bad relic known asKRON, but that's just me. I know I'm not alone.
Now, THIS, I do not understand. She is marginal at best.
ReplyDeleteShe is "marginal" as you put it because she doesn't scream, hype the news, act like a diva, or sensationalize. She's cool and collected. She's even-handed. She's cautious and checks everything as closely as she can before she goes on the air. That's what you'd want in a professional journalist, right?

DeleteI've always liked Catherine's work and on-air presence. And if I recall correctly, per reports, KRON has consistently underpaid her over the years.

Heenan suffered some sort of issue last night in the middle of the 8pm newscast. Last shot of her was a gaffe where they had a two shot with Vicki Liviakis who was reading the prompter and Heenan who was two handing a cup of something to her face very gingerly (kind of like what Trump did). It was obvious Heenan was supposed to take over in the script only she didn't and after a pause Liviakis continued on. And that was the last we saw of Heenan the rest of the night. Liviakis did the rest of the 8, the 9, and the 10 solo. Very weird. Hope everything's ok with Catherine...

DeleteRich, I agree with you 99% of the time when you a do a break down on everybody. But she comes across as a bore. It had to be said.
