415 Media Extra: Big Boss Suits at KPIX Hold Secret Meeting on De La Cruz; MIA Status; CBS Suits Fuming; Called for Meeting

RICH LIEBERMAN 415 MEDIA: Veronica De La Cruz Talks to 415 Media ...

LATE LAST NIGHT, several bosses, including its GM and ND, were holed up in the office, deep in the bowels of the KPIX/CBS building on Battery and Broadway. The meeting was so secret many of the participants didn't even know about it until late in the day.

The meeting was put together, I'VE LEARNED, by top CBS execs in LA--the meeting was not called to talk about chocolate chip cookie recipes.

In fact, the meeting was called to discuss the situation involving the latest drama with PIX anchor, Veronica De La Cruz. She may or may not have told station officials she's OK or why she's been MIA.

Oh no,, not again! No, really, again.

KPIX has more or less had to put up with VDLC' shenanigans --apparently, I'M TOLD, she is FEARED by the brass because she's well-connected and she doesn't like to be messed with. I doubt she's that Teflon-proof but that's another story for another day.

Presumably, the powers-that-be at PIX were discussing the latest case of "where's De La Cruz?" I know for sure CBS suits were vastly pissed off the drama queen was doing another disappearing act on their dime and, assuming she's OK and not in some kind of trouble, they wanted a full explanation from her high-holiness, VDLC.

Good luck with that.

  1. Soy Boy bosses in L.A. and locally should just fire her ass! Nut less bastards. Just like Portland. Want to stop ANTIFA riots and destruction of property and threatening residents?

Pop one of those snowflakes and every body gets the message.

You either fish or cut bait. She's F'd in the head for sure.

  2. Just renew her contract at 20% increase for 3 more years and don't require her to come in unless she wants to. That would work for both KPIX and VDLC alike!

    1. But make sure to STIPULATE that VDLC, The Asian Goddess, must serve her contract in SACRAMENTO, which would satisfy more than a few fans...

    1. Rich says she's "well-connected," but I'd like to know what she can do if she objectively violates her agreement. Send in a hit squad? Asian gangs are going to come to the station in their rice boy low-to-the-ground Honda del Sols and cause trouble?

  4. How can one person have so many issues? In this ultra-litigious society the station has to tread lightly - but when does enough become "ENOUGH"?

  5. She's WELL-CONNECTED??? That little nothing of a newsreader? What can she do, put out a hit squad on them??? ("No tulips! No tulips!" ...Modern Family joke, if you've seen it.) Seriously, well-connected??? What can that joke of an anchor do? Threaten to go off and sell cosmetics at Macy's??? If you want something to investigate, Rich, I suggest the "well-connected" aspect.

  6. The 2nd Natasha, except VDLC is not luxury rich, got dumped with a baby on her own and using her child as an excuse to slack off. For so many years, she is one reporter slacking off the most never ever shows up on a big story or on weekends and use her own excuses or possible connection to get away. I wonder how Liz Cook and Ken Bastita feels about this. And, surprisingly, no one is backstabbing her to kick her out either Ken and Liz are nice people or she has the back-up or using the rules of San Francisco to legally allow her not to show off, get paid and it is ok.

For a reporter like VDLC, her love life is already a mess. I am not sure was she madly in love with her ex carrying the child hoping he will accept her or it was a hoax turning out an outcome of a single mom. For VDLC, a reporter job is just a way for her to earn the big cash using her indeed sexy eyes, lips and figure to get viewers attention, but she is 500% not even qualified in the news media field. Ask herself this question, what qualifies her to be a news reporter shows up when she likes and slack off when she wants to??

KPIX should let her go right now except she might use her child and personal excuse to sue the company and may never have to work again. The best choice, put her back on the field like Kenny Choi to really learn how to be a real reporter starting off in the field for another 20 years. I never seen a reporter using so many excuses not show up.

LET'S HER GO, KPIX!! Any Asian reporter like Maria Medina, Betty Yu or Andrea Nakako who did fill in can do a better job.

    1. ...great points, about VDLC's sexy eyes, (DSL) lips and hips, and especially about the other wonderful Asian female reporters: Medina, Yu, Sze, Nakado, and I'm sure I'm missing a few (... buy gotta LOVE Sze...)

  7. Look, the answer is obvious.

VDLC is obviously part of a secret intelligence organization and these disappearances are her and her team of crack secret agents on a mission to save the world from nuclear Armageddon.

Y'all should really be more sympathetic. If it weren't for VDLC, we probably wouldn't have woken up this morning. She sacrifices everything for us. A kid? Nuts. That's her cover story. She's an expert assassin showing terrorists how it feels to be hunted. You're welcome.

  9. I'm basically loyal to KGO7 with the only other news I watch being KTVU when Cristina Rendon is on. So I have pretty much have no idea who de la Cruz is. Sounds like a lot of drama I'm glad I'm not involved with. Is she that special?

  10. I always get lost on the way home from my Molly hook-up. Give her a break, we all need a little R&R from all the poop and screaming children.

  11. When that many suits get together, their usually planning their next move. They realize that if they don't handle her extremely carefully, they will have a law suit on their hands. My guess is that they figure out a way to let her go. Probably a large buy out that Rich will tell us about in the months to come.

  12. Has anyone at KPIX thought to, you know, go to her house, knock on the door and ask her why she's not showing up. Just a thought...

  13. Part of me is curious & concerned for VDLC. Another part is perhaps selfish as I might turn to KPIX hoping to see her (as an alternative to KTVU ) but she's almost never there. Another part of me wonders how a business might deal with an absent employee.

Not every career is good for everybody forever. It might have been good for VDLC when she went to school and got hired. Things and life changes; changes people, too. Many who were in front of the camera have moved on to other things. For VDLC, perhaps it's that time to move on.
