'Du LOyah', Len Tillem, KGO Radio Legal Ace Doesn't Take any Crap

RICH LIEBERMAN 415 MEDIA: Len Tillem, 'Da Loyah', Talks About ...

LenTillem; yeah, that guy, the "How come you callin' a LOY--YUH!?"--a coupe of things: first, he really is a loyah! He loves what he does too. --so much so the one-time KGO Radio fixture was more interested in practicing his law gig than turning down hefty offers from radio networks to do a national show!

I know a few things about Lenny, trust me. He was more damn talented than you might think. But oh boy, so darn complex too. Which isn't so unusual --most talented people are. Tillem was no different.

His schtick with the callers, both on his KGO show and brief, off-KGO foray, was genuine. It was no phony act. In fact, Tillem sometimes was a wise guy to deal with, on and especially off the air. But because he was such an enduring character, Tillem was given a pass. Multiple passes.

Tillem didn't take any crap. From anyone. He could be a pain in the ass but again, he was for real. He wanted everything done his way. Or the highway and to this day, I commend him. The guy built a successful law practice and that was it. Happy? Yeah, enough to live well and large and radio, schmadio, b damned.

I miss Tillem on da radio. I bet I'm not alone.

Tillem is alive and well today, living in Sonoma wife. his wife.

  4. Loved Len. Someone, please bring him back. His hour a day was a never-miss, or if I did miss, it was a "download the podcast" thing.
