KGO has been doing yeoman work in providing newsworthy information to the Bay Area. Steller work all around and all the hosts have been doing great work, even those I've had issues with in the past but that's small potatoes compared to now and our present crisis situation.
I ASK you guys to put a host on during the weekend--starting Saturday --tomorrow.
I know John Rothmann would love to be in the studio and talk to his listeners --ALL his listeners, including many who regard KGO as a community asset that thrives in times like this and would be vital as, if nothing else, a body guard to many who have no human link now any may be afraid. Rothmann could also take calls from fellow media people and general listeners who yearn for information and guidance.
At the very least, KGO would get many brownie point from the Bay Area and in terms of good will, score HIGH on the humanity department. I personally think it would be a monumental act of graciousness and trust.
So, as that shoe company would say, LETS DO IT!
No! If they do that how the hell am I going to learn about magic supplements and all the great investment and real estate seminars?!?
ReplyDeleteLet it roll this weekend KGO 810. You'll be back on the Bay Area Map.
ReplyDeleteWhy is it KGO never hires people of color ?
ReplyDeleteMaybe if KGO had black and Hispanic radio hosts we might all listen again.
The way we see it, KGO is a racist organization.
0/10, worst troll ever.
DeleteNo I don't think KGO is racist, they had several people of color (as you call it) Brian Copeland as a talk show host, and others not as a host. Some commenters to this blog was upset that Niki Medoro got the morning show, because they thought she only got it because she was black, which she is not, I thought she was part Indian (as in India) but someone said she is Puerto Rican and Irish, I don't think a talk show host should be hired on the basis of color, but on the basis on how good he is. I personally liked Brian Copelands show, because he was black he had a different take on certain subject, but many commenters here, and Rich as well, didn't care for him, said he was a one trick pony, and could only talk about being black, i.e. a victim. I didn't think so, he talked about local issue, entertainment etc. Guess you can't please everyone.
