I GET LOTS of material, lots and lots and lots, but no other bit is as funny as the deal that is told to me, so I'm hearing KNBR hearty babe, that conquering journalist on radio in the morning, Bonnie-Jill Laflin, supposedly has questions written for her to use on interviews because, well, you know, it's like, totally, hard and ask questions, and so, if Bonnie-Jill needs written questions from interns, well so be it.
Her podcast interview with that jolly giant, Aubrey Huff, was downright hilarious, for all the wrong reasons.
In the interview, she refers to Huff, as "Huffey." Huffey? What is this, Romper Room?
Bonnie-Jill has been given extraordinary rope because she's pretty, very cooperative and willing to be a team player for even things and acts off the radar, including KNBR's radar. She doesn't really rock the boat either which is SOP on many broadcast company business models. With all that going, her added pablum that she loves her country, god, family, anthems is just bonus points. All strong elements you need to stay on a morning radio show that needs to maintain horny male truck drivers from Fremont, engaged. Cause you know, with Bonnie, you have to hang with the big boys.
I'm so smitten.
Interesting picture choice for BJ . . . I mean Bonnie Jill . . .
ReplyDeleteAnd just when I was thinking it wasn't possible to be a bigger waste of space in the morning than Paulie Mac, here she comes.
Most have help with questions. And some who don't REALLY should get help.
ReplyDeleteWasn't she the first ever female scout in the history of the NBA? If she was with the Giants or 49ers she would have had her own television commercial during the Super Bowl (as the 49ers did for their first female) or have MLB players upset she was in camp (Giants with their first female). Such is trailblazing life in the NBA I guess.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful woman.
The Giants PR machine has really let us know they have a first female, same with the 49ers. The Lakers are too busy trying to rename Los Angeles "Los Kobe" to acknowledge her.
DeleteIn a time where the national shows avoid baseball like the plague, it's hard to believe KNBR is going to beat it into the ground every day for the next eight months. No way, no thanks.

This is common practice. I've written interview questions for Catherine Heenan, Wendy Tokuda, Brian Banmiller, Ken Bastida, and Anna Chavez.
These people are hired because the are "personable," not because they know anything about news.
She has a lot in common with FLOTITS
