FLASH!
IF YOU HEAR A SONIC BOOM around the KGO (ABC7) studios, it may be a result of THIS:
A prominent Circle7 source who is usually in and around the office on the Embarcadero tells me combative, vindictive, News Director/VP, Tracey Watkowski-Silva, is on her way out.
How so?
This much.
She's been interviewing, says the source, for a GM job elsewhere in the ABC 'O and O' family.
I've heard the ABC affiliate in Raleigh, NC is a prime landing spot for Watkowski --Raleigh doesn't have the cachet of the Bay Area but it's definitely cheaper and probably an audience that doesn't know much about Trixie, which might be her intent.
Since her May, 2012 accent to KGO, Watkowski has been a royal pain in the ass to almost all the working men and women at ABC/SF. She has her favorites no doubt, but like to rule like a dictator, actions that have cost ABC and Disney multiple millions of dollars. Watkowski knows people in high places in the ABC family, but her nastiness may have come to an end.
I'll be on it as always.
So if it's hasta la vista Trixie who would the replacement be? Someone local? A promotion? An outsider? Sometimes the devil you know is better than the one you don't.

We must all mail links to Rich's blog to every media outlet in North Carolina!
Rich I'm going to need you on it.
ReplyDeleteGet down on it, come on and get down on it.
so during her tenure, ABC7 news was continually number #1...right?
ReplyDeleteNo, unless you mean No. 1 worst place to work.
DeleteAnd by the way, no need to type "number #1." That literally says "number number one."
Isn't she the one who hired this KGO richie rich reporter with connections based on their family background? Credits to all morning team reporters boycotting this reporter forcing them to leave after this reporter force 2 other hottie reporters to leave making the morning news like a chaos zoo.
ReplyDeleteBottom line means nothing if there are no good feelings behind it. Yay for the Ashley-Finney side of the station once Trixie goes. And it sounds like the A-F part of Circle 7 won't see The Bentley park any time soon.
