ONE OF THE BEST REPORTERS IN TOWN...
Vitals:
Amy Hollyfield, at KGO since 2001
*Admired by staff and beloved for her spirit and candor. Buys tuna sandwiches for the newsroom and diet cokes too; who does that anymore?
*Anchors --a classic hybrid--and easy on the eyes.
*Tenacious and tough, glamour image, still steady and commands presence on the screen.
*KGO (ABC7) veteran reporter and senior General Assignment reporter; one of its highest-paid but can NBC Bay Area pay her price --more importantly, can KNTV ND, Steph Adrouny snag another Circle7 talent? This could be a tough task.
*We'll track; nothing official right now but the heat is on. And so too, an offer. Business lunch is on the horizon at secret San Jose location (think Fairmont Hotel) to woo her. (Yo Amy, order the crab salad and sand dabs.)
*Expect KGO buttons to try mightily to keep her if NBCBA has serious offer --I smell leverage for Countess Amy. Femme Fatale.
Glad to hear she's a nice person, and I do agree that she does a fine job, but that girl is UGLY!!! "Easy on the eyes", "glamour image"? More like: a face made for radio.
ReplyDeleteWhat are you talking about? Amy's got a bit of a Rosamund Pike-thing going on. Throw in her personality and she sounds like the complete package.
DeleteThat's just an especially unflattering photo. My guess is she doesn't go the glamour photo route like some of the "white women" in the industry because she's more authentic than that.
DeleteA face made for radio? Why are you bringing up Nikki Medoro???
DeleteSpeaking of Circle 7, resident butt boy couldn’t even bother to put on a tie this AM. Mike Nicco continues to appear in cheap ill fitting suits and scuffed shoes that don’t go with that cheap suit. Throw in a couple of hood rats who are always inappropriately attired and coiffed and you have a hot mess. What ever happened to “Dress for Success?
ReplyDeleteHow do you manage to see his shoes?
DeleteMy problem with him is he does the weather like he's talking to a room of first graders. Ditto Drew Tuma. Maybe it's a Trixie thing.
Always liked Amy and the reporting she has done. I'd like to see her as an anchor. She clearly has paid her dues. Best of luck to her wherever she ends up. She's well worth the money.
ReplyDeleteI've said this for years -- Amy Hollyfield is the best LIVE reporter in the entire Bay Area. Only Allie Rasmus
Deleteat KTVU comes close. This is a such a special skill and
it's frustrating to see the likes of Da Lin (KPIX), who never looks at the camera and Christina Tetreault (KRON)
who is constantly blinking. Very distracting!
> Admired by staff and beloved for her spirit and candor
ReplyDeleteNow I know all your "sources" are full of shit. They can't stand her.
Rich
ReplyDeleteDid this round of ass kissing get you a tuna sandwich?
She should leave Circle 7, good luck trying to kick out Janelle and Jessica adding on the middle eastern decent hot reporter on the weekends.
