THERE IS NOTHING SHOCKING ABOUT Brian Murphy's failure to call out Tim Ryan as a reader informs me, via this site, 415 Media,and regular e-mail.
And make no mistake, Ryan needs to be called out no matter his mistake or KNBR's sturdy attempt to conduct massive damage control, as it did today and will now doubt continue, like working like hell to erase Ryan's tone deaf remarks and idiocy via station websites and other social media locales.
Ryan will survive this episode mainly because he got an OK from most 49ers players including, significantly, its Black players; not all gave the approval but most were supportive. That doesn't erase those who were and are mightily offended by Ryan's blackness comments.
Murphy, as is his wont, said nothing. Or the little he did say, was a nothing burger. I'm not surprised because Murphy is a total insignificant twit, a KNBR shill and Giants' shill who shills for nickels and kisses ass for Larry Baer and is a total vanilla wafer. He'd be laughed at in NY and Chicago and Boston but here he's become a pimp for the sports establishment. A real, bona-fide schmuck. A Marin yahoo with fuzzy cheeks and absolutely white bread pathos. The Irish fratboy common at the KNBR saloon.
I don't like Murphy, yes, and I'm hoping I'm not the only guy that calls him out. I heard the "Game" (95.7 FM All-Sports) morning show was all over Murphy and KNBR Thursday )today) --good, hopefully more to come.
