LOVE the work of Larry Magid from KCBS; the tech guy who does great work on the latest industry news both locally and nationally is rumored to be a goner but I'm hoping this is not the case.
*Phil Matier did his first report for KGO and was as smooth as ever; I'm learning through both Circle7 and KPIX that money was not the major issue from Matier joining KGO.
"He wanted to concentrate on politics while they (KPIX wanted him to do more general news," said a contact who talked to me directly.

*Major Credit to KGO's Pat Thurston for yeoman's work, reporting on the Geyserville fire and latest wind event regarding PG&E. Thurston has been interviewing officials from the fire scene and took one very emotional call from an elderly woman on Thursday who was terrified of her home possibly being lost and up-in-air status.

Heather spent so much time tonight drawing in her nonexistent cleavage, she forgot to put makeup on her knees. They looked like little resting bitch faces on her legs.
ReplyDeleteWho said anything about Heather?
Delete10/24/19 20:14 Is both off-topic and uncalled for as this blog topic is regarding radio personalities and not tv personalities and how tv people look.
DeleteWho are you two, the internet SS?
DeleteI wouldn’t be so fast to hand out bouquets to KGO. Tonight John Rothmann talked for a couple of hours about the fires in Sonoma County that have destroyed, at this point, about 40 homes. He made it sound as if it was a chore to take calls about the fires, as if he had more important things on his mind. He went back to his I-Hate-Trump theme at 8 p.m., something he does every night. I can get I-Hate-Trump from many other places, and from hosts more intelligent than him. The fires are something vitally important to tens of thousands of his potential listeners. Somebody should be telling him that when you have a national disaster developing in your coverage area, you stay on that story. Reporting on major calamities in your back yard should be a no-brainer for any station that wants to be known as a local news source.
ReplyDeleteJohn Rothmann is a talk show host not a news reporter. He did 2 hours on the fire and then switched to politics, because many of his email requested he talked about politics. How many hours can you do on a fire in a talk show? It becomes very repetitive, hearing caller after caller telling how the got out, how close the fire got ect. I'm not discounting how horrible it is to be close to that fire (I have friends in Sonoma, Healdsburg and Lake County), but 2 hours on a talk show is more than enough, and Pat Thurston spend 3 hours, I believe, on the fire and PG&E. As for Trump hate theme, I don't think so, John I just pointing out what is going on, and you can turn to Hannity, Levin, Rush and other and get a Trump love theme. Could you perhaps tell us who you think is more intelligent and does a better Trump hate theme than John? I think John is quite reasonable, I like Pat, but I feel she goes overboard at times in her dislikes for Trump, as does Tom Hartmann, heard on 910 a.m. 9 to noon, I believe. John is much more balanced. Again John is not a reporter he is a talk show host.
DeleteKPIX had the best weekend morning news when Phil Matier was one of the anchors, and doing it live. Recently however, everything he did was taped, and not nearly as good.
ReplyDeleteIt's too bad he prefers politics, and he's great at that, but he could be an excellent anchor anywhere!
I always viewed Matier as a political analyst, and thought it was strange that he was doing general reporting.
DeleteTodos con Biden!
ReplyDeleteCan you believe Joe Biden touted his Latino outreach but never registered the website and twitter? They swooped in on it quickly. Crazy Hair Plugs Joe forgot latinos!
And what's up with Cal Dem rep Katie Hill and the leaked nude photos and bong/nazi controversy? Cal Dems...do as we say, not as we do!
