Natasha Zouves Rumored to be Headed Back to SoCal

Related image "I DON'T THINK SHE WAS READY FOR SAN FRANCISCO."

That's what a veteran KGO-TV staffer told me about rumors of morning anchor, Natasha Zouves, leaving the Bay Area and headed for Southern California, possibly back to San Diego, where she originated before coming here to ABC7.

Zouves has been recovering from a fall on the newsroom set --she slipped and fell on some hair mousse a few weeks back and is recovering at home.

My sources at KGO believe she's done at 900 Front. Zouves' latest adventure is one of many --which may have accelerated her decision to leave the 415. Again, it's only a rumor but it seems to have legs (no pun intended)

Said a longtime staffer: "She's a nice woman, a smart woman, but she hasn't adapted to this station and to this area." The staffer was quick to point out that the latest brouhaha seems to be legitimately fluky and not to insinuate anything else but clearly, Zouves has battled several mysterious issues since coming to Circle7.

Complicating matters for KGO is current fill-in, Jessica Castro, is considered a flat-out airhead and is but merely a temporary placemat. "She doesn't have the mental make-up to carry a permanent position," said a source.

Which means KGO might be looking for a new morning news anchor. Keep in mind when Zouves took the gig a few years back several other potential people turned down the gig. It wasn't a high-paying job. Zouves' contract is up this year.

We'll monitor the situation.

  1. Come back "home" Natasha...
You and Stanley have the right idea.

    Salsipuedes!

Now flee poo'n needle-ville before the junkies steal your soul.

  2. Natasha, if you do move on, sorry to see you go, yet I understand not all employers/cities/coworkers will agree for an individual. Again, if true about looking elsewhere, even though you grew up in the SF Bay Area, it could be where you went to school and previously worked is more comfortable for you.

Jessica C., from my perspective merely as a viewer, you're doing fine. Keep up the good work, regardless of that negative-sounding "source".

I also look forward to seeing what transpires with Zouves, and any of the other Bay Area news personalities in the coming months.

  3. If Natasha decides to leave. Definitely get rid of Jessica (she’d be perfect for KRON) and give the new anchor chair to Alexis Smith. She has all the tools to make KGO a respectable/watchable morning show. Right now, it’s a joke! Change the channel ...

    1. Everything at KGO is a disaster! Zouves will be better off getting out of this crappy TV market. I see one helluva major overhaul coming to KGO, and I don't think one of those zero talented female anchors are safe. I bet the annoying Kristen Sze will be next to go...

  4. If I worked in the City of Shit, ran by people who have shit for brains, I would leave also if I had the chance.

    1. I agree. KGO TV ANYTHING is exactly that. Zouves is likely too intelligent, too attractive, for that crowd. I don't know how Finney hangs on there, either, he is so much smarter than the rest of them.

  5. Too lazy to look it up, but I thought Zouves was originally from the South Bay. It doesn't make sense that she'd be leaving because she can't adapt to the area. Maybe she hates waking up at 3 AM.

  6. Just a question, is the San Francisco market known especially for the cattiness and pettiness of its newsrooms? Seems people spend half their time complaining about their working conditions and the other half the people they work with.

  7. Hispanic women are notorious for "killing off" their competition when they want the spotlight. Zouves has likely been a victim of the jealousy created when men go on and on to their wives, girlfriends, or coworkers about how good-looking one of their female co-workers is. I've seen it time and again in the workplace. The jealous coworker will poison the targets coffee, wet an area ahead of time, walk with them so that the target walks through the slippery area while they avoid it, steal their items that aren't locked down, go through their purse or into their desk and rifle items, anything they can do to sabotage the targeted woman. If you are the target, your life becomes a series of incidents that become death by a thousand cuts, and you'd be better to get out if the harassment continues. Believe me, harassment from a jealous female coworker is almost as bad as male sexual harassment and can last much longer because, it is never addressed by management. In fact, males in the workplace make it worse and, it would seem at times, actually encourage this type of in-fighting among females. Somebody always gets hurt.

    1. All but NBC are embarrassing themselves into the dirt, but KGO has lapped KPIX and KRON reaching disaster levels. This on-air staff has to be scrambling to get out!

  8. Couldn't find another anchorwoman pre-Zouves, eh? All of the others are saying No Trixie or No Contract. Might Disney higher-ups be sending an indirect collusive-only-to-the-Trixie-loving-crickets message? BTW, love to hear from Rich about any Circle7 contract hangups still existing, especially among the most important. As in do what ABC/Disney HQ says and get rid of Trixie or they turn into another KRON?

  9. Zouves would be perfect at KRON. Then Darya can finally retire.

  11. She's young and smart and there are better jobs in the business that don't require a 2am alarm.

  12. My objection to Zouves is that she dresses for a cocktail party at 4:30 in the morning. It's particularly jarring when she's reporting a tragic story while batting her false eyelashes, flashing a glittery necklace & dangling earrings. I wouldn't miss that a bit.

  13. I do not agree with ANT above at all. Alexis Smith should not even be on TV. And her work ethic is deplorable. I mean, look how much time she takes off? Don't believe me? Hey, she is not there again THIS MORNING [Thursday August 16th]. Alexis Smith has taken so much time off since adopting the baby, and yet, we are still from time to time, hearing so-called reports about how there is allegedly a disparity between what men and women are paid. She is a CLASSIC example of one reason why that may be the case in certain instances, since she does NOT put in the time.

    1. I CANNOT believe you are even watching KGO at any time of the day, but in the morning? That's gotta be such a downer!!

    2. Adopted the baby? She carried a baby and delivered it a few months ago. Please cut a new parent some well-deserved slack, sir or madam.

    1. I know: about a little over $100G. Not a lot of money when you live in SF. One of the reasons why everyone but her turned the job down.

  15. Zouves is most definitely NOT a "bubblehead." She graduated with Phi Beta Kappa and magna cum laude honors at USC.

  17. 100% Doubt she will leave the Bay Area. She is from the Bay Area with a good background interesting to find out online except for one member in her family who is autistic. If she plans to move back to San Diego, like other KRON 4 reporters, she must have found love. Some former KRON 4 reporter went down to L.A. or their former once hometown, got married and have kids.

I am happy if she is gone, but 100% doubt when Trixie is still working for KGO 7 who hired and make this new changes to the morning news. I dislike her considering she is over rated from DAY 1 with no qualification and low experience to serve as main anchor. First teamimg up with Dan Ashley when she started work, then weekend anchor and suddenly swapping away Eric or Kristen morning spot. I watch the morning news in years today and interesting to see how Reggie and Jessica make a good team, same loud voice level. Natasha voice is too low and her fake expressions is disgusting to watch. One thing I must point out, Jessica looks very old compared to the picture provided by Rich on this site, older than Reggie when she is younger. Bad make-up and will support Jessica to the main anchor (if Natasha is gone).

  18. Zouves is an attractive woman -- but she has no business anchoring a major market newscast.

Zouves and her co-anchor have reduced what was once an impressive morning newscast into their own version of Romper Room TV.

Maybe she can get some actual reporting experience, mature some, become a bit more "real" and then anchor a newscast in a smaller, less sophisticated city than San Francisco.

  19. Is Jessica Castro there for analysis? I think she’s fine. Reggie is annoying to listen to and his forced banter is just as bad. Natasha is not the right person for the Bay Area , at least weekdays. She would be an OK weekend or online only news bit personality.

  20. Shut up everyone! get her back on tv! we miss her already!

  21. I found this site while wondering where she has been. I have watched KGO mornings for years while getting ready for work. KGO by far is the best in the bay and seeing all the negative and critical comments here it seems to me like negative people who think they know it all. I do not know if it’s a toxic workplace but I would hope not. Natasha comes across real and uplifting to me, she is in my opinion the most beautiful anchor I’ve ever seen with a smooth voice and positive attiude. Her accolades alone demonstrate her intelligence. And she and the reset of the morning team report the news and attempt not to depress you while telling you all the BS going on in the world. Maybe that’s where people think they are fake. I think it’s a real talent. Other channels are too serious or too goofy in the morning. Natasha, Jessica, Alexis, Reggie, and Mike come across to me as having good chemistry, but who knows? The Bay is a major market and I think Natasha, on air, handles it very well. Off air I do not know. It would be KGO’s loss if they do not retain her in my viewer only opinion. It’s does seem odd to me that her photo is on the website but her bio is gone, yet they still run her commercials. Her social media is stagnat as well which is usually really active. I hope she is ok and hope she does the right thing for herself, but selfishly I hope she is back on soon.
