  1. For all your bashing of Cumulus, their stock price is up 136% since 10/30/12. Not a bad return on any investment.

    1. Yeah, I suppose as long as you DESTROY market after market with shit content and 8 billion SweetJack ads, at least kiss ass to your stokholders, thanks Trickey Dickey.

    2. Not personally following this situation--as Rich would say I got no dog in this fight---but if that's your metric for great then I could give you a very long list of companies whose stock prices went up more than 100 percent year-over-year and which today are out of business.

    3. In the short term maybe Cumulus is seeing results. They're slashing and burning their entire business. Longterm, what's their plan? Poorly run news outlets? So they're up 136% selling off stations, firing people, and cutting expenses. Is this their future business model?

Their product is what matters, and will matter, at the end of the day. They've got 3-4 more years to figure that out.

  2. In other words, with such stock results, the destruction will continue. New victims now being chosen. It's a real sweet deal.

    2. I enjoyed the play on sweet jack's theme at the end there (it's a real sweet deal) while at the same time snorting with derision and throwing my hands in the air disgusted by your constant tomfoolery.

  3. It really is all because of the Republican appointed people at the FCC during the Bush era.

    1. Poor Mr. Lib. You must be Rubber Band Man to stretch that far out for a flimsy excuse! (snort) The Bush Era indeed. What's you next big joke?

    2. @2:20 don't you remember the Democrats blame Bush for everything. Anything that fails, it's Bush's fault! The failure of the Obamacare website, BUSH!

    3. Say post at 11:16 chew on this latest stat.
      President Obama's latest poll numbers are . . . . .
43 disapproval rating. The lowest in his Presidency.
      Let's hear you crow now.

    4. 2:36 & 2:20--
You RepubliKKKans....blame everything on Illegal Immigrants. Lousy economy? It's because of them "MEKsikins." Funny---how you RePUKElikans are all up in arms over this whole damn Drone thing--yet you have NO problem letting asswipes like Sherrif Joe in Arizona stop any dark-skinned person on the street to check for their citizenship.

    5. Actually this started with Clinton in the Telecommunications Act of 1996. Bush just sealed the deal with a further loosening of the rules that Clinton started. Bush was a VERY bad POTUS, but he can't take total blame for this one.

    6. Writer 9.37 pm is a prime example of one who believes the USA having No Borders will make the rest of the world like us, as if that really mattered. I don't care if they like us, so long as they respect us. Both ally and enemy states on the whole, do not respect us under your president. Let's see if you can figure out why that is, Why Europe, Russia and The Saudis are snickering at your president. You just try going to other countries and start 'demanding things' like free health care, public education and even housing on the cheap, see what you get other than a swift boot in the rear. That is the right of each country to observe and protect its' boundaries. We get nothing from pretending it doesn't matter. Oh, actually we do get several million poor people who are already illiterate in their own languages. I'm all for LEAGAL IMMIGRATION. Do you know what that means? I wonder. Dictionaries are widely available, I think the process should be simplified and cost far less than now. I;m all for educated, productive people who have something to offer our society other than two open grasping hands. We need those doctors and engineers. We do not need those unwilling to obey our laws, or unwilling to acclimate to our norms of behavior. ! Let them peel another banana in their own republic, not ours.

    7. You guys are talking around the issue. Station owners have their own lobby group in DC in the form of the NAB. Listeners do not have monied interests lobbying on their behalf. Whether you're talking the banks, the airlines or the media, when it comes to deregulation corporate owners have more muscle in DC than consumers.

    8. Hey 9:37, Sherif Joe is a Saint! We need four score more like him.

  4. December 1, 2011 was the death bed of KGO. Why because as a long time listener they got ready of all the people I loved to listen to. Did I agree with all of them of course not. It was a intelligent talk show. I least they all had a brain and could intelligently say what was going on. I still listen to Ron the minute they get ready of him goodbye KGO. KGO made a big mistake. Now I will tell you something talk radio is done I am sorry to say. Now the only thing I have is 960. But I am sure pretty soon they will change their format. What happenned to the expression don't fix what is not broken. I really miss my old KGO. But I know I and other listeners don't matter. It's a whole new world out there but not FOR THE BETTER. KGO was San Francisco but what do you expect when out of town Companies take over.

    1. I think 4;33 pm meant to say Dec 1, 2011 was the death KNELL of KGO. I agree with him. However, he can keep 960 for himself, I'll visit 910 instead. 960 is too much of an NPR wannabe. As though one propaganda outlet was not sufficient.

    2. And KSFO is not propaganda, and part of 910, why is it conservatives get all upset over one liberal radio station, which 960 is not, Glenn Beck is on in early a.m. and Dave Ramsey from 9 a.m. to noon. I like Dave Ramsey and he is mostly about money, but he is conservative, although a nice and compassionate conservative. There should be room for all different points of view on the radio, that is what makes it interesting, or are you so closed minded you only want to hear someone who mirror you point of view? How narrow minded.

  6. What is KGO/Cumulus December 1, 2011?

The day Ronn Owens did nothing!
Sitting on ones hands is more powerful than voicing your disapproval.

  7. The spineless Copey and Lowensteinnnnnnnnnnnnn will never live down their infamy after the mass firings. For all his sanctimonious stances over the years. Mr. Lowensteinnnnnnnnnnnnnnn was unable to stand up and do the right thing when he had the opportunity to do so. Instead he let Jared Hart bully him in to talking about cell phones! Copey is no different. The disingenuous black "man" read a prepared statement and said he had nothing to say about the mass firings. Pussies the both of them! I know for a fact Gene Burns would've stood up for both of them the way he did for Karel vis a vis Joe the Plumber. They let Burns be run over and said nothing. Unforgivable. May they have sleepless nights for eternity. I spit upon your mattress Ronnnnnnnnn! And I spit upon you Dopey!

    1. "For all his sanctimonious stances over the years"
      Excellent point at 8:46pm.
That more than anything else that made me furious.
Ronn was always so righteous in the defense of his pet subjects on the air.
But when push came to shove, Ronn went running.
Ronn, did you go running to the local race track?

  9. Anon at 2:20 & 2:26...the Reagan admin had the FCC redefine what was a "program"....notice how many infomercials have been on tv since the late 80's? It was also under the "actor" that the first linchpin of deregulation happened...given media companies the opening to own more than one newspaper, radio and tv station in the same market. W took that and crushed the FCC....that is why we have a company that can own multiple media outlets in the same market. Notice how the east bay and peninsula papers are all the same, the radio is full of automated dj's and sweet jack ads? And shit holes like ktvu run 6 stations out of one control in Oakland. When the focus becomes a shareholder and not an end user this is what you get. Enough history for today anon 2:20 & 2:26....,back to your abodes in The Central Valley.
