When Howard Stern was on terrestrial radio locally in the mornings was he beating Ronn's ratings? Who led back in the days when you had Howard, Ronn, and Gary in the mornings?
#12;24 describes Pat Thurston thusly; "Articulate, beautiful voice and brilliant on top of it all!" so then I ask,, Are you being sarcastic, or do you really feel that way? Just wonderin. When I think of Pat; the words Stridently Partisan, and Unfettered Harridan comes to mind.
Hey, 2:32, Republicans devour 91% of American Talk Radio. While Liberal Radio is merely 9%. And still...these Evil/Selfish Republicans go out of their way to fault with what little radio the Left has left has to listen to.
Really my sentiments exactly, just goes to show conservatives do not want a diversity of opinions, might not want a diversity of population, i.e. black, latino, oriental, not all, but surely some feel that way.
I could save the same for Savage intelligent, good voice his politics kills it for me, well not really, because I can listen to some conservative hosts (Tom Sullivan for one) his meanness kills it for me.
Kate Scott said Raddy had a birthday. Since he was 63 last year, that makes this year 64. Did you ever think when you first met him decades ago, he would still be here doing the same thing instead of retired in Palm Springs like all the rest?
Why do you censor comment on your posts? Is it simply a case of your ego not allowing you to be proven wrong or a proven a hypocrite? For someone who spends the vast majority of their time criticizing others, you have an incredibly thin skin.
Anon 10:47, In the future, when you read or hear something you disagree with, I recommend you follow the strategy of the great Kathleen Sybillious and just say "whatever". Get with the program and get in line.
If you enjoy the blog it's a small price to pay. Rich censored my question regarding whether or not there were Darya nudes floating around on the internet last week during the last Q&A session. He then proceeded to answer two others I asked. I figure he wants to keep the discussion civil. I for one didn't complain and just appreciated the fact he gives up this forumn.
Couldn't KNTV just lease a sub-channel from KQED and duplicate the 11.1 signal (at lower quality) to reach areas of the SF area that aren't served well by their tower on San Bruno Mt.?
There's a wikipedia article on "Digital Subchannel" that includes examples of stations in other parts of the country that host subchannels of (somewhat) distant stations to extend their reach.
Wow, and to think all these years I figured you were referring to Hannity as Frosty. I believe that is how Dr. Savage refers to him. Who is the frosty you speak of? Is our local market strong enough to handle two Frosty's?
I also heard that change. I would welcome such an adjustment. Frosty still sounds as though he's straining his voice and forcing it out. Maybe it's just pent up excitement. My concern would be if the 'guests' turn his show into an Info-mercial formant. There is a subtle difference.
How is Ray Taliferro doing? I miss those days when my radio was on fire during the night. We need a new Republican president so there is something worth listening to. John B Wells is the only thing that comes close.
John B. Wells has a beautiful deep voice, sonorous and resonant. He is best in short introductions or announcements. The problem I had listening to him was that he speaks in a bit of a monotone, making his deep voice almost unintelligible. I just hear a deep purple rumble. For that and other reasons, I switched my night radio habits some months ago, and now listen to Red Eye Radio on 560am. Those two guys are political, yes, but differ enough in their presentation to make for an interesting, entertaining show most nights. AND they have caller guests to wrangle with, or cut off (should the caller need to be abruptly cut off).
John B. Wells is a chain smoker. We'd all sound that way if we smoked a few pack a day (check his Facebook pictures if you don't believe me). Barry White had nothing on that deep rumble and I do agree with the previous poster. After a few sentences I can't understand a word coming out of John's mouth. All I hear is the deep grunt of a locomotive.
Did Mark Ibanez have to shave the mustache off because it developed a personality of its own and he wanted to save mankind?
ReplyDeleteThat's kinda loaded question this early in the morn but I think the mustache had reached its demise and Mark was ready for a new look.
DeleteBetter hair in the 80's you or Ted Danson?
ReplyDeleteNeither: Whoopie Goldberg.
DeleteIn the spirit of Halloween, whatever happened to the KTVU "Creature Features" guy?
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to report that Bob Wilkins, who was the "Creature Features" host passed away a few years ago.
DeleteWhen Howard Stern was on terrestrial radio locally in the mornings was he beating Ronn's ratings? Who led back in the days when you had Howard, Ronn, and Gary in the mornings?
ReplyDeleteDon't know that but I do recall he beat just about everyone else.
DeleteWhen does Ronn's contract expire? Do you think it will be renewed?
ReplyDeleteIn a year; he's got an option for 2015 when he turns 70 and then, yes, I think that's it.
DeleteWish Pat Thurston would take that KGO Morning Show!
DeleteThurston is articulate, beautiful voice and brilliant on top of it all!
I enjoy Pat as well. Intelligent, funny, witty. Great, sexy voice like you said. Her politics and Democratic slant kill it for me tho.
DeleteI like Pat too.

ReplyDeleteWith his money I wouldn't look to Florida. He seems to love Healdsburg and he can afford it. Or was it Santa Barbara?
DeleteHis mother lives in Healdsburg; and he has a place down south somewhere near on in Santa Barbara. I think maybe his father was buried there.

DeleteAny chance of KNTV doing a channel swap (with a donation as well) with KQED to get NBC in SF with a transmitter location on Mt Sutro?

DeleteThe simple quick and easy resolution KNTV moves to channel 4 - the end result NBC4 Bay Area.
DeleteWhat is the deal at KTVU? Are the underlings still mad as hell at their silent bosses?
ReplyDeleteYes, very much so.
DeleteRich I was listening to Frosty this afternoon and he was giving out the phone number and taking calls. Is Talk910 changing their mind on callers?
ReplyDeleteHave you heard Frosty? Maybe the calls are a welcome addition.

ReplyDeleteFrom all indications Ray is enjoying his retirement, living in SF and supposedly writing a book.

DeleteDarya Folsom hot or not?
ReplyDeleteTo me...hot. I really enjoyed the days when she dressed the way she did for the reasons she did. Sadly she has toned it down.
DeleteShe had a window. It has closed.
