New SF Media Landscape in 2012? Not really

So, what kind of year can we look for in 2012 on the media landscape in The City?

Hope, change, investigative? Nope.

Consider just the lead "headline" wheel of the once mighty KGO, this weekend on talk-show mode.  The local headline that even made the ABC News Radio news ... ready?

"17-year-old spider monkey stolen from the San Francisco Zoo recovered on New Year's Eve."

Cue the next SmartJack spot, please ...

What a  year to look forward to!

  1. KTVU will start leading the newscast with "stories" about the X factor.

  2. My top five wishes for 2012:

Dana King will have a change of heart and turn up with electric-red hair (it would set off Ken Bastida's lantern jaw better).

KRON will finally come up with some new graphics (don't the current ones go back to the Bob Jimenez era?).

CBS Radio will revive the old KFRC call letters on one of its frequencies (and always make one reference per day to "San Pantyhose-A").

KGO will bring back the old "Comedy Time" on Saturday mornings (Cumulus could save even more money; instead of paying a host go down to Rasputin for some vintage Bill Cosby and Tom Lehrer records).

Mitch Thompson will have throat-nodule surgery (just listening to him makes me want to gargle with Chloroseptic).
