  2. Dion Lim will be seen nationally after her contract is finished up.
Jake Haener is washed up in NOLA: 4 for 10 got sacked thrice, threw an interception. Pulled after first half. Spencer Rattler cleaned up the mess. He has 3 games left then “Adieu bench warmer”.
KNBR is so crappy that we will celebrate its demise. Maybe we will see Murphy and Copes and Papa selling sodas at Ballers games.

    1. No loss for KGO just another news reader,no substance and talent reporting skills. The Ray from Sunnyvale and Levis Stadium.

    2. If Jake hangs it up more time for Julie to spend time in Napa with the “little one”, Mark

    3. Yes, Jake Haener is/was a total flop in the NFL but at least he got there and tried. He’s clearly not cut out for the job (very, very few are) so best of luck to him in his future non-football endeavors which will likely begin once this NFL season ends. I hear the McDonalds in Yreka is looking for an overnight shift manager.

    4. All of you knocking Jake Haener need to remember the path to NFL success is brutally competitive, filled with players like Jake: talented enough to reach the league but not nearly talented enough to stay. The odds of making an NFL roster are staggeringly small, and achieving lasting success is even rarer. This isn’t a knock on Jake; it’s a testament to his skill and determination. He should take pride in reaching the NFL, an achievement most can only dream of.

Best of luck to Jake in his next chapter. His education, discipline, work ethic, and resilience, traits that got him to the NFL, will serve him well in building a bright future. These qualities, forged at the highest level, make him destined for success beyond football.

    5. Why is everyone so eager to write the obituary on Jake’s NFL career? Last I checked, he’s still on the Saints roster, and there’s been no announcement that he’s done after this season. Did everyone suddenly forget that every team has second and third string quarterbacks? Sure, we all know Jake doesn't have the stuff to be a starting NFL QB, but how is anyone so sure he can’t be a reliable backup ready to step up when needed? Unless I missed the memo where every GM declared they don’t need Jake now or in the future, this sounds like premature trolling.

    6. I guess you did not see the game. That’s ok, it was the lowly Ain’ts after all.
Every team has 3, sometimes 4 quarterbacks. 3 dress - after the Niners ran out of bodies one year.
Jake was given the ball, and like all members of an NFL team, he was expected to pick up where the previous guy left off. “Next Man Up” is the term. You play your way into starting.
Haener was a deer in the headlights. Four for 10, one interception, 49 yards for the HALF. By halftime, the coaches had seen enough. Yanked. Got to watch S Rattler almost pull off an upset. That’s stepping up.
When Jake was pulled from being on the team for 6 games - illegal use of chemicals - he was skating on thin ice. Now that he showed his skills in a real NFL game, he will be begging Coach Tedford for a role.
Yep. He made it to the Bigs. Commendable. But when his storied career in the NFL is written, he will be known as a bust, roadkill to the initiated.
Fresno State has a few notable players, but most come and go with a whimper, not a thud.

    7. Jake’s narrative is not merely a testament to his football prowess, but rather a reflection of the intricate interplay between wealth, privilege, and opportunity. While it is indisputable that Jake possesses undeniable athletic talent, after all, one does not ascend to the NFL without a high degree of skill, this singular focus on talent risks overlooking the broader, more systemic factors that shape success. To suggest that Jake’s achievement is purely the result of individual merit is to ignore the foundational role that access plays in the trajectory of his career.

Jake’s family, entrenched in affluence and social capital, afforded him a unique set of opportunities that extend far beyond the field. Access to elite training programs, prestigious academic institutions, influential networks, and high level scouts is not a universal reality. Indeed, across the nation, countless gifted athletes languish in obscurity, their potential untapped not due to a lack of talent, but because they lack the institutional support and societal connections that Jake’s background readily provided.

This is not to diminish Jake’s ability, his skill is evident and deserves recognition, but rather to acknowledge the structural inequities that shape the world of professional sports. Talent, in isolation, is insufficient when the systems in place disproportionately reward those with the right connections and resources. In this context, Jake’s story becomes emblematic of a larger societal truth: that opportunity, as much as ability, dictates success in a world where the playing field is far from level.

    8. 10:11, wow, this is so well said.

    9. 10:11PM He went to fricken Fresno State. Probably his mom went there too. Is that a prestigious academic institution? I think your hyperbole is off for the most part. Scouts find college talent in the hoods frequently and bring them in on scholarship to football schools in the big powerhouse conferences, while learning not even basic English as evident in their postgame interviews in college and the NFL. This is evident in all sports. You make it sound like you need an Ivy League education to play pro sports. What are you smoking in your den of evidently stupid superior in your mind intellectual theories?

    10. No, it sounds like those bullshit college papers from liberal universities about social disparities. I used to think this idiocy ended when the 1960s did.

  3. Speaking of football Kyle needs to go, lost control of team let alone of running it to the ground offensively and defensively, 9ers should've gotten Bellicheck

  4. @ 4:36 Love the 49ers excuses, not used to the snow, Walsh had team practiced in the snow, rain caused problems, duh, don't the other side facing the same conditions? Injuries is hurting us, Walsh almost always draft or sign capable free agents for backups unlike Kyle and Lynch whom is lacking knowledge in getting tough players

  5. She’s a good weekend anchor. Unfortunately for her it would be at least 5 years to get a weekday anchor desk job at KGO. Just the way it is done things will never change.

    ReplyDelete
  6. She wants out so she can earn more $$$$ supporting the family, don’t expect poker players to earn more than Dion each month.

  7. Rich, you are absolutely right about the extra money local radio gets if their "team" goes to the playoffs. Advertising contracts are for regular season games only. Playoffs go up because advertisers want to be part of a winning team. And by the way, it's the same for the announcers. Papa and Ryan have made a ton of extra money during the 49ers playoff runs. This disastrous season is going to hurt Cumulus locally.

The Jaws of KNBR will not see postseason for awhile. They can either suck it up or head east.
Like many 49er Faithful, we saw it coming - the holes were not there, several guys lost a step, the 2nd & 3rd liners are not up to the tasks, and BP is not in the same league as Mahommes, Allen, Hebert, Stafford, among others. Hell the lowly Lambs beat em at home.
Better watch a lot of tape as there will be many roster spots to fill by 6/2025.

  8. If she can get more $$ elsewhere then why did not she take it? Media companies are cutting back and she is no great anchor so will have to take what is offered .Ray from 94086

  10. The headline is wrong, circle 7 still wants Dion out, but she can’t get a job anywhere else because she’s an awful person and no one wants to deal with her bad reporting.

    1. If 7 wanted Dion out she’d be gone.

  11. So, if she really wants out, she's free to leave, without all the drama.

  13. Dion Lim wants OUT! Heather Holmes wants OUT !!
Who else wants out? Tests the waters in LA, Dallas, Chicago, Philadelphia. Only then will you see the true value of your CV
I suspect everyone thinks they have National chops, but few actually have bay area chops.
Maybe Julie can apply for NOLA Newsreader, someone needs to revive the family name.

  14. If she signed a contract it should be about up ir did she resign again?

How long are the contracts? 3 years or is it a 5 year deal? If she wants out everything is negotiable. KGO would be happy to get rid of her salary and hire someone for less $$$.

  15. All these second tier talent talent think their value is more. What has Lim done on the reporting side of note lucky to anchor a weekend news on a major network and market. No loss to KGO if gone.
