KRON and Nexstar Woes Hits Fever Pitch

  1. Nima Momeni deserved “the chair”, I hope the Judge throws the book at him - maybe 16 and an additional 20. 36 years total - he won’t be so smug after 36 years of playing Mr Mom.

    1. Hard to find sympathy in a case where the parties involved were all insufferable asshats.

  2. KRON let go two sales people. As for the news department there’s no where to cut because everyone is already overworked and underpaid

    1. Not everyone. Special Projects guy comes in at 11am and spends half.of his day snickering in the corner with the tiny news director and usually leaves around 4pm. Puts out about 4 minutes of content a month.

    2. They have someone in Special Projects? News to me, and I work there.

  4. KRON needs to let their news director Josh Palefsky go and start fresh. New GM new News Director new year. Their sales department has all turned over in the last year and now they need to do it to news.

    2. Porsche huh? Guess, he must have saved his pennies from being thrown up against a wall in his helmet and Velcro suit?

    3. Big head on top, small on the bottom. Typical Porsche dude.

  5. Michael Thomas the KRON morning show reporter is leaving. Why can't KRON keep any staff? They all.seem to go to KPIX and KTVU. Kind of tells you something.

    1. Why does Michael Thomas gives me the creeps?

    2. Oh sad to hear this. He does a great job. Like him better than their regular gal on traffic too.

    3. Maybe MT is leaving under his own volition? I suspect he was offered a higher paying gig elsewhere.
His over the top coif certainly looked silly.

    4. Is this true? I’ve become a big fan (although his voice and eyebrows are distracting). He’s such a hardworking reporter. He was first at the tragic Piedmont crash, then he’s doing traffic then suddenly I saw him at the Momeni trial. Dude seems to be everywhere.

    5. KPIX has more turnover in news department. They only cater to Lizzy Cook and Jessica Burch but treat their reporters like shit

    6. @9:58 ANSWER: Because he’s creepy looking. Don’t powdah and prune them brows like a Karmanian if you want to be on-air. Simple as that. It’s distracting. Anderson Cooper doesn’t present himself like a freakshow. Bring on the woke DEI haters, oh no he didin. BOY, I mean THEY, u luv yo body. Hatas gonna hate.

    7. Mr Thomas would do well to tone down the flamboyance and let his work do the talking. Why bring attention to your eyebrows, voice, make up and crazy hair when you do solid work? I would say he’s similarly situated as Sarah Donchey when she used to rock the MC Hammer pants.

    8. I work with Michael and he does solid work every day. The only freak shows are the ones on here talkin about eyebrows. Honestly I actually feel sorry for how idiotic you people are.

    1. I just love that 8th grader Darya stoner act. She yips and yaps about everything, mainly about her death defying leaps as a cheerleader. Rah Rah Ree !!

  7. KRON sales side isn’t doing well rumor has it. And the lifestyle producer was cut. That show only had one producer from my understanding.

  8. Really, Who gives a fuck?

  9. You criticize KRON for its staff, but it is a reality across television and local news in general. No local news will be as respected or as trusted as it once was. Broadcast TV pays terrible, and the draw simply is not there to work on television because the thrill of being on TV is not there any more. Nexstar, and any ownership or business, will reduce expenses to increase revenue.

  11. Michael Thomas is leaving?! What an utterly devastating and profound loss for KRON.

  12. Mike Thomas is one of the best reporters Kron’s got. His stuff is clean and to the point. Always under 1:45. Never late. And turns it very quickly. Complain about his look all you want but the man has delivery and journalism skill. And viewers love him. No effin joke. People show up at his live shots just to say hi and compliment him. Plus he’s the kindest human. So chill.

    3. Doubt they go to watch Michael report live. People that arrive to stand and stare, are there same people who go to the zoo to watch the exotic monkey ram the other in the ass with his banana.

    4. Agree. He is an excellent reporter. We don't get a lot of those at KRON. Of course homophobes won't care for him. Not surprising to see some are on this page. But Michael is a journalist of the top order and a really nice person to work with as well.

    4. Jessica is a snooze fest. Her voice is very nasal and monotone. All they do is say isn't that great? It's great! So great! Over and over and over again.

    1. Olivia certainly had more personality. The two current hosts come across as forced with their wooden smiles and demeanor.

    2. Olivia sucked because she was a dimwit who couldn't pronounce her own name. That Jess chick stares at the camera like she's been hit with a stun gun and also can't pronounce anything particularly Bay Area town names and the poor new woman is stuck in a horrible show. There's no way that lasts a whole lot longer. It was definitely better when it started but it is what it is which is an hour long paid commercial masquerading as a show.
