Betty Yu, a KPIX Mega Star That is Wasted
HEY PIX: WAKE UP! Look around! You have existing talent and you don't have to look around outside markets, she's right there in your building at 855 Battery.
Why PIX continues to under use this thoughtful, steady, passionate and compelling talent, I have no idea. It's not as if she doesn't want to work, she's right there and loves the attention. Only you morons apparently don't have the mental fortitude to USE HER!

The way things are going, getting news people from Fresno is going to be an improvement.

DeleteI thoroughly enjoy watching Betty Yu on air. She is a local from Bay Area and one of the rare journalists actually in touch with our community. I notice KPIX has new amateur hour hires that leave me scratching my head. Who is making these decisions at KPIX? Rich, I agree with you completely on this one.
ReplyDeleteBetty Yu is a reliable reporter. She is definitely underutilized at KPIX. Another underused talent is Andrea Nakano. She is a superior sports anchor instead of that idiot Vern Glenn.
DeleteMy wife and I ran into Betty Yu two years ago at a fundraiser. She is striking and sweet in person. Rich, you would be happy....Betty's guest that evening appeared to be a handsome looking Jewish man.

Delete11:17... Everything is not racist and sexist as all the liberals seem to think I'm this area. My God, get some brains and a life. Perhaps it's simply incompetence by management. I have always liked Betty Yu as a reporter and unfortunately haven't seen enough of her in other roles to know that how good she might be in them. Admittedly I watch very very little local news.

ReplyDeleteNot a fan of Betty Yu. Actually, she may be fine, it is the stories they have her covering that don't sit well with me. Channel 5 and all the other news stations cover things that are not really news such as a new restaurant opening or some gimmick that some publicity person sent a press release on. It is all junk and not news.

DeleteI don't watch all the time but I've seen her cover gritty crime and Asian hate victims throughout the entire pandemic. She did a great job.
