Start Spreading the News: Dion Lim is Headed to NY to Anchor ABC's 'World News Now'

As I predicted, KGO-TV's (ABC7) Dion Lim is going places...

Namely to NY to anchor ABC's World News Now, April 18th --23rd. And, World News This Morning.

She's got game.

  1. 4:30am PDT next week? A bit too early for me!

  2. Another one jumps off Trixie's ship.

Best of luck to her. Will be interesting to see who destroys a fine news institution first, Trixie or Amber Eikel.

    1. Looks like it's just a temporary 1 week stint in NY.

    2. My money is on Eikel. She's really poured on the steam these past 6 months! Poor KTVU it used to be THE place to work now it's THE place to run like hell from between her and the FOX overlords.

    3. But I bet it won't be for long. I won't be surprised if ABC dangles a boat-load of money in front of her to move to NY- If so, I expect her to be gone by July 4th.

  4. Maybe Heather Holmes will get a call from FOX, she has the looks and the icy delivery they are looking for.

    1. Heather Holmes has no juice with Fox. That's why she's been 2nd string for so long. She just intimidates Eikel into letting her fill in for the A Team and it works. Squeakiest wheel gets the grease.

    2. Heather is very professional. She could easily be a network news anchor.

    3. I agree with 8:44. The problem with Heather is not Heather but the fact that Julie Haener is also really good. KTVU has 2 excellent anchors and maybe for now Julie is the top because she deserves it. That is not a slam at Heather at all but just the way I see things, and I think that if Heather was at NBC, CBS, ABC, KNTV she would lead that station. KTVU is lucky to have them both.

  5. She's never impressed me. She was laughing as the newscast kept showing the Will Smith slap over and over on a video loop, with a big smile on her face. Did she really think that was a good moment for Smith or the Oscars? There have been other times where she's shown herself to be a typical happy talk newscaster. She's not too bright, but Disney apparently likes that type.

  7. World New Now used to be really good. It lost its way when the last good Co-anchor, Rob Moton, left to be a regular news correspondent. Now, between the two supposed regular co-anchors, it is a rare thing when the both of them are there at the same time. But I will watch when Dion Lim is on, for sure, although KGO pretty much preempts it with that dang Regis and Kathie Lee show that they rerun in the early morning hours, and then if that wasn't bad enough, they they rerun the day's Tamron Hall [who the hell is tamron Hall anyway?]. So I have been watching WWN via my roku although the problem with that is that at 1am, because ABC news is live on Roku, they switch to the live feed of America This Morning, so if I want to watch World New Now, I have to watch it before 1am. While I totally love Dion Lim and wish the best for her and her worthless gambling husband, out of selfishness, I would like for her to stay at KGO. Oh well...
