95.7 FM "The Game" Finally Beats KNBR's Woeful Morning Show M25-54 But,..; KGO Sinks; KYLD Up Tempo; KSFO Too; KCBS Low Trend; SF Radio Ratings

95.7 FM --"The Game" (All-Sports) had a good March in the overall ratings--most importantly, in the non-beauty contest ratings (which the ad buyers use to buy time on) The Game's morning show flat out BEAT KNBR's perennial moronic, "Murph and Mac." in Male25/54.

Yes, technically they did But there's a caveat.

The Game is still 10th overall in M25-54 so I have no idea why their schmucky PD is crowing about being the tenth-best. When you have cratered for your entire existence (The Game evolved in 2010) you're bound to go up eventually. So Matt Nahigian is a brand manager, not a program director.

*BOOK MARKERS:

1. KGO Radio: ouch galore. Time to predict when they actually do die.

2. KNBR: you can't rest on the Giants and 49ers anymore. Maybe you should consider switching to all-food radio.

3.KSFO: no rhyme or reason.

4. KYLD: didn't see that coming.

5. KCBS: one day soon...

  3. Is the 8 minute Ronnnn Owens report still on KGO? Easiest job in the world for Ronnn. But can't imagine anyone actually tuning in to hear this crap.

    1. It was only 4 minutes and went away at the end of August. Hardly anyone noticed.

  6. Now I can't listen to the Game as we moved a little outside Bay Area. Stuck now with KNBR or just plain silence is fine.

    1. No good sports stations in the Bay Area. All you have to do is stream NY or LA sports talk to see how awful we have it here. So sad.

  8. KGO and KSFO radio will not die...
At least not as long as there is still a "senior" in the audience that they can suck dry with their "targeted" promotions from
    A) Balance of Nature fruits and veggie capsules
    B) Doug Andrew Laser Fund (Suck Em Dry Investments Inc.)
    C) Relief Factor (kills any pain except in your wallet)

  9. If KNBR is going to tie themselves to baseball, it shouldn't be a surprise that their younger demos are going to continue to shrink. Sure, the die-hards love it, but most of us can only take a little bit at a time.

  10. It cannot be overemphasized that the 12+ numbers are next to useless. That’s why they are public after all. KGO informercials destroy the overall numbers, but weekday favorable demo day parts are actually up for the most part. This is why stations have to pay for the data!

  11. Larry Baer sucks ass and is why KNBR is tanking. He insists they talk Giants at 3 AM on a Sunday night in December. He’s hoping everyone has forgotten that he knows how to wrestle females.
