Frank Somerville Gets More Bizarre on Social Media

He's now pissed at NBC for not airing the gold medal hockey game at the Olympics.

Other posts on his Instagram seem curious (at best) and downright weird. That's a word a TV News figure told me. Mind you most of the people I've talked to really like Frank Somerville --have sympathy for him or at least were once sympathetic. Now, they just shake their head and wonder what's going on. Is he OK? Is he in denial? Does he realize how bizarre all these social media posts look.

One Bay Area media person (who asked me not to name him/her) had a more cynical view about Frank.

"This is all a tactic. He's trying to change the subject. He's trying to appear as if nothing has happened and that he's all good and everything is normal."

I don't know what to think. I'm hopeful Frank is dealing with his various issues and that he comes to grips with all the problems facing him now and in the future. He hasn't addressed any of his past misdeeds--which even his closest allies, few in number, point out. They all agree, however, he should stay off social media.

  1. I wish you could have included a few of those 'weird' postings.
To comment on Hockey is no big deal.
I'm from Michigan. We used to worship the Red Wings during the Gordie Howe Era. He played 26 seasons!

    1. Gordie Howe was amazing. Delvecchio was a stalwart on those teams, too.

  2. I don't agree with the cynical person, or at least not completely. I don't think it's certain that he's consciously trying to change the topic. It could be that all this smokescreen stuff is just to protect his own fragile self from all he's gone through (and all he's lost) in the past year. His mind may not be ready to process it yet. He's in denial. Better to worry about the small things in life than the fact that he screwed his wife, his children, his life, his finances, his job, his future employment prospects, his past reputation....literally everything. And he did it all in a year. Short of self-destructive rockers (like Amy Winehouse) I can't think of a better example of a catastrophic downfall.

  3. Does this mean he is too cheap to afford Xfinity TV? All games is on Xfinity under Peacock, if he doesn't get that station, he is broke.

  4. Hey Rich, stop giving this sociopathic megalomaniac oxygen with your posts. He clearly is crying out for attention.

  6. This dope was bad enough with his sanctimonious posts on Facebook now that he’s discovered Instagram he’s even worse. In 5 years he will discover Tik Tok and all hell will break loose. What a pathetic display. I still can’t believe his post about his flabby abs. Geez.

  7. FS (I won't say his name) is such a joke. Has been for years; now we see it daily through his inane, ego-saturated social media posts. What an empty suit.
