KCBS could do one better. It could make time for Carolyn on a permanent basis, somewhere, any time or place. I'm assuming Burns would be open to working but I could be wrong. She strikes me as a woman who has a schedule and itinerary and is only interested in radio on a temp basis.
When we schmoozed in the press box at the Oakland Coliseum and Candlestick, it was engrossing conversation. Carolyn Burns, like I said, is a wonderful broadcaster and more importantly, a cool person. We've not spoke for years. I'm putting out an APB for her to make contact.
Yes, I'm a critical guy. Which is why most of you all come here. It's rare I'm so complimentary. Burns is a talented lady and she is warranted my love and admiration.
Ba da bing.
And judging by those teeth and that skin, she's a two-pack-a-day smoker too.
ReplyDeleteWhat do you find wrong about nice teeth, normal skin for a California sun lover..This is not evil.
DeleteBurns??? You're kidding, right?
ReplyDeleteDefinitely don't agree. She has a raspy voice and doesn't do traffic reports or sports that well at all. You should catch the new hire, Claire(?) Beverly -- much, much better.

DeleteWhile. we're on the subject of KCBS Radio, I want to give credit to the management for pairing up Jeff Bell with Holly Quan in Stan Bunger's old slot. I hope they become permanent. Holly Quan brings continuity and Bell has a golden radio voice that is easy to listen to.
ReplyDeleteRichie, working with Carolyn was a great experience and she knows her sports but knowing the audience and Carolyn she'll probably remain a freelance traffic reporter on the All News station
