KCBS: Your 'All-Commercial' Station; Runs Thirty Minutes of Ads and No News!

commercials | Mark Ramsey Media LLC

KCBS: Not the news leader.-- "News?" What's that? More like the commercial leader.

The alleged news outlet didn't run ANY news --I counted. From 6: 32 AM this morning until the top of the hour, if you were listening, you heard NO NEWS... like,

6: 33 --commercials until 6: 38 --traffic. Followed by weather --more ads until 6: 45, sports --followed by, yes, again, more ads than yes, again, traffic and weather at 6: 48 with, yes, again, MORE ADS --literally all ADS until a 90-sec business report at 6: 54, followed by, yes, again, MORE ADS..until yes again, another traffic -weather report at 6: 58...

Meanwhile, NO NEWS for almost a good half hour! --"News? What the hell is that?

Yup - Whores of Tijuana | FacebookNobody begrudges KCBS has a right to make money. Terrestrial radio is free --get it. But there's difference between making money and being a bunch of whores and Entercom/KCBS are downright whores now.

Only hookers are more ethical.

  3. Once again. Rich seems to only listen to KGO, KCBS and KNBR for purposes of criticizing them. Why? Most who check out this blog listen to other stations. How about covering those?

  4. Gawd, how dense do you have to be? (Yes, you, Rich.) A station that does that in AM Drive, when their anchor team is forced to work remotely, is a station having technical problems. You, Mr. I've Been In Broadcasting, should recognize they're only running wall-to-wall commercials because it's preferable to running dead air. (Unlike KNBR, where the dead air would be an improvement.)

  6. I think there must have been a technical issue. I was surprised that my Amazon Echo regular alarm went off instead of the usual KCBS at 5:18 as it is set to do. So I surmise something must have been amiss

  7. The entire news team/staff was likely in mandatory online training for workplace/diversity/racial/gender/age/covid-safety/IT-telecomm-from-the-home and general policy & procedure updates; I forgot to mention regular staff news to alleviate rumors of layoffs.
