AFTER a week off for the Cumulus mandated furlough, KGO Radio morning hostess Nikki Medoro returned to the air on Monday just as out of whack --a week off, (the first time) to maybe reevaluate her work and style on air, hopefully take time to reset.

She didn't.

Medoro sounds even worse now if that's at all possible. She didn't bother to check the ratings --I'm sure she'll get wind this week when the more advertiser-keen breakdowns become available and her numbers reflect a how that needs severe help.

Medoro should stick to an interview-heavy show. Her monologues are horrible. Her preaching-lecturing is hazardous to the ears. Her constant hubby/family/kids mentions would normally be something worth listening to; in fact, they've become  tiresome and deplorable. If this were something listeners (namely, women, housewife's, the demo that KGO is trying to attract here) gravitated to, then Medoro would be raking in numbers and a show that's on the rise.

Nope.

Two-plus months into the show, Medoro doesn't register. She needs a good producer. She needs for support to lend her more guests --in fact, that's where the show should go. More guests, less talk. Medoro can do a decent interview but when she talks on and on and on and on, it's a painful listen.

*That new morning guy on PIX is about as compelling as a week-old kumquat. What, does KPIX sink into such vast mediocrity that they think this sleep-inducing guy would attract an audience? Heck no.

*Veronica De La Cruz is at home recovering from the virus until she comes back in a few wweks when something else hits her. I thought I had bad luck.

*Allen Martin really detests VDLC so much so they barely look at one another. That'ss one thing I can agree on with Martin.

 *John Rothmann on KGO is a a Bay Area treasure. You all know I'm a consistent Rothmann advocate. But his overzealous penchant to allow nutso callers to drone on and on is bad for the radio show. It begs more ignorance and it gives more legitimacy to the Trump loyalists who regard Trump as a Jim Jones cult leader. It's no longer entertaining anymore, John, and it doesn't need more KGO promos. Every now and then, sure, but not an every-night basis.

*Kumasi Aaron on ABC7 (KGO-TV) is lovely to look at and worship every weekday early morning but her anchor delivery has taken on a more chirpy, giggly delivery and that

s too bad. It's Disneyland at 900 Front (literally and figurately) with the two male morons nearby in the studio who don't know any better and are bad lawn furniture. I wish Aaron was more :just-read-it" style and less sloppy Anaheimish but that's just me.

*Mike Nicco lost in space now he's got an excuse.

*Bill Martin at KTVU counting down the days.

*Steve Paulsen used to be utter cool at MO2 now just trying to keep up with Sal Castaneda --and he can't.

*Pam Cook at Channel 2 I see she got an upgrade from her Ross account to the Burlington Coat Factory. Cook, I also see, has apparently been busy on the cheeseburgers at the Jack London Sqaure Nations.

*I ran into the ex-GM/VP of KTVU, Kevin O'Brien the other day near the Union Street annex, KOB is active in the community so please watch out or you'll be missing out.

*No, I'm not brain dead dept. KRON could easily fetch $500 million. Even in a pandemic. KRON is a clear-channel station and in a Top-10 market. Years ago, KTLA got close to a BILLION in LA and people were stunned. It's all about market size and reach and KRON fits that property. It just needs lots of deep cleaning and care. A TV belo-alert has been issued.
