Point Counter-Point

*Point: Oh, 'cmon, Mark Thompson is that bad!

Counter-Point: No, he really is that bad. I've had people who had a positive view of Thompson tell me he's not only bad, but worse yet, BORING! And so full of himself too. Thompson has the authenticity of a horny hyena. A four-hour enema would be more enjoyable than listening to Thompson's bulging pipes. Thompson loves listening to himself which is good because no one else is listening.

*Point: You have to give credit to KPIX for trying a 7 PM newscast.

Counter-Point: Right, and so what? In fact, its KPIX-owned CBS which was behind the new 7 PM newscast and most of its O and O's also have 7 ---as usual, KPIX's version pretty much sucks with El Blando, Ken Bastida anchoring the Titanic. As with other PIX newscasts, there's nothing new here. It's all a basic rewrite and redo of all the other awful PIX news presentations. You can resurrect a dead cat, you can just pretend it's alive. Channel 5 at 7 is like Channel 5 at 5, 6 and 11: dead on arrival.

*Point: You should be more sympathetic to Ronn Owens.

Counter-Point: Bullshit. He's fair game. He himself said he wanted no sympathy --besides, I've never mentioned his Parkinson's disease, that would be cruel. I have mentioned and will continue to mention his chronic massive ego and BS that he spews forth and his amen corner eat it up. He's a self-centered jerk and I won't be his tool. He can BS all he wants and act like some latent radio legend but he completely sullied his career by becoming such a tool for Cumulus. Sympathy? Screw him.

*Point: Don't readers have a right to question you on your donation requests for money?

Counter-Point: No, just as I don't question others on how and why they make their money. It's their business. If I decide I want some service or product that I really like and it costs money, then I pay it. If I love a certain breakfast dish and no one else has it down and I have to pay more, then I pay. If I really love to read a certain writer or watch a certain show on HBO, then I pay. Therefore, if you like 415 Media or even if you hate it but like reading it, then you'd pay. It's not apples and onions, it's apples and apples because try asking HBO or KQED for their expense rundown.

*Point: You know, Armstrong and Getty do great interviews.

Counter-Point: Yeah, they do. Occasionally I walk Lake Merritt twice a day too. That doesn't make up for the time I don't walk the lake or walk period for that matter. I have no issues with their interviews because, yes, by and large, they ask good questions. It's their fake-laughter, BS, non-transparent support for most Trump actions yet trying to come off as MOR and objective which is complete bullshit, just like their hyena laughs and cackles.

*Point: Aren't you beating a dead horse --like KGO?

Counter-Point: Hell no. Had I not written so much about "dead" KGO in the past seven years, who says KGO wouldn't have tried this latest format which is pretty much their old format save for the clowns in Sacramento in the early morning. It's ME that kept KGO in the subject line and nobody else. Sometimes people forget.

*Point: Ben Fong-Torres is a legend.

Counter Point: So was Charles Manson.

*Point: You know, Jan Wahl is clever every now and then.

Counter-Point: You know, so too are leeches.

*Point: Michael Krasny does a very good show on KQED Radio, "Forum."

Counter-Point: And its great for about 10 minutes but after awhile when your snoozing it ruins your sleep. Or, more like it enhances your sleep. I love a good Robert Redford interview but Krasny can't do a political interview if his life depended on it. And when he does, it's a snoozer. I don't know, maybe KQED likes it that way but I'm a meat and potato guy who hates tofu and alfalfa sprouts.

Point: Ann Killion is a pretty good writer.

Counter-Point: Yeah, she is; its what she writes that pisses me off. She's holier then thou when it comes to feminist issues but she picks and chooses her fights. She went soft on Larry Baer but had a stick up her ass for Jamius Winston. Can you see the difference? Of course you can.
