In other news.... Does anybody know why 1590 AM KLIV is going off the air at midnight Sunday? Owned by a 97 year old geezer. The geezer said they have 12 months to decide per FCC rules.
KLIV is a country oldies station from San Jose. For most of the bay area it is a DAYTIME only station as the wattage is cut down & a news talk station from the southland comes in at night. A weird daily cycle. The music is actually good. As most mom & pop stations are.
Just noticed that KSFN-AM 1510 which was the first 24-hour Mandarin language station, and had a transmitter in West Oakland, is now broadcasting (temporarily) the feed from legendary country and blues station KPIG based in Watsonville/Santa Cruz and was the successor to KFAT which started in 1973. I remember about 40 years ago I used to twist around my FM wire antenna connected to my receiver so that I could get the laid-back disk-jockeys on KFAT when living in San Francisco.
Don't know what's happening to 1510 KSFN in the near future but for now, KPIG rocks.

I agree with you, although Ethan Bearman and Chip Franklin have gotten a lot better the past few months, i.e. now I can stand listening to them for more than 2 minutes, I would much prefer Brian or Ronn.
Copeland was the only African American on the station after Ray Taliaferro. I'm sure that will be what the law suit is about. Even though his daughter works at KGO, she wasn't dumped like her father. I'm still saying I'd rather listen to ten minutes of Ronn than that useless piece of crap...Chip Franklin! What a rude, uneducated man who thinks he's funny. Ethan is so in love with himself he might as well be talking to a mirror, while stirring a tofu banana bread.
SO NOW that Brian Copeland (aka: "Copie") is suing Cumulus/KGO, word is that his buddy, Ronn Owens has distanced himself from the Coper. 
Now that pot is legal, why would owens need Copeland?
