  1. I just saw this on ESPN and came right over here. I don't get it. Why did he take the jacket? Did he want it? Was he playing a prank? Is his job in jeopardy? I feel like we're getting only half the story. You would think if he wanted a Warriors jacket he could certainly get one.

    1. Real simple.. He thieved the jacket.. They got it on video tape. He already apologized.

    2. Petty theft. Nothing more nothing less. Fire him, can't be trusted.
If one were to look back over his life probably isn't his first rodeo.

  2. Hmm, crazy thing to do. At minimum, he should be suspended for the rest of the playoffs.

  3. What a waste! At Circle7 longer than with the 49ers! What was eating at him?

  4. Doesn't he make enough money to buy his own damned jacket?

  5. Seriously...Sneaky Shu couldn't ask for a piece of Warriors game used memorabilia from a Warriors PR person? Did Sneaky Shu need to supplement his income after ABC cut it? Bad juju..

  9. I know Schu...He is not a thief..I'm sure there is a reasonable explanation. The super bowl player is not stupid. He is , however, a prankster.

    3. If you are calling him, “Schu,” then you don’t know Shu.

  10. Larry Beil dared him to do it.

  11. Strange story. Hope it's not true. Reminds me of a former MLB umpire, Bob Engel, who torpedoed his career for stealing baseball cards. Doesn't make any sense--not worth it.

  12. Shumann is great. It was probably just an innocent prank. I remember when Bill Walsh was his coach, Bill dressed up as a doorman and tried to take the player's bags. He was probably going to do a similar prank. He was probably going to put on the security jacket and goof with the players or other press. Lighten up Warriors. Much ado about nothing.

  13. Doesn't look like a prank to me. (Dang, you just gave him an idea for his defense!) What arrogance! As I see it, he probably felt "entitled" to it because the Warriors hadn't given him one by now. What? KGO doesn't pay him enough that he can't afford to buy one himself? Did he intend to wear it out in public? What response would he have givee if asked where or who he got it from? Duh! I've never liked him because he's so arrogant and biased. I would love to see him on his first day back on TV, IF he does get to go back. I'm glad he got caught & hope he's not let off the hook with just a slap on the wrist and/or a forced on-air apology for what "allegedly" is on the video. Security cameras are placed for a reason, idiot shu!

  14. I saw the video of the incident...The way that Mr. Shumann picked up the jacket, looked at it, examined it, & walked away. I thought that Shu was going to return to somebody, who had left it on the chair?!

  15. what a clown. looks real cool with the backwards cap. Dude, what, are you 60's??

  16. I tend to agree with 5:24. I worked with Mike when he was with both KGO TV and Radio.

Theft doesn't fit his profile ... or, his "need." As others have pointed out, if he wanted a Warriors jacket, there are many paths for him to have acquired one.

"Schu," has been around for many years, without a hint of a tendency toward thieving, or other underhanded behavior.

  17. We know it won't be Trixie making the call. Too bad for Shu she had a "thing" for him.

  18. Public shaming as punishment (short of firing him). KGO requires him to wear said jacket (or facsimile) during each telecast for one month, whenever on camera. Even when doing 49er interviews post-game.

  21. On KPIX news video Mike took the jacket from one seat and then went to another seat and took something else...I'm guessing he was going to return them...unless he left the building with them.

  22. I saw that, too. Couldn't make out what it was. If he was going to return them, why didn't he? He obviously didn't nor intended to as no one spoke up to say he returned said item(s).

I agree with you, Frank at 9:23, add to that him giving the latest Warriors news outside of Oracle Arena.
