I CANT FIGURE OUT Andria Borba.
Either the KPIX reporter is being eccentric on purpose or just is not your normal local news correspondent; I say "not your normal" in a respectful way because I've watched her reports and she has a strange delivery, odd voice and overall weird kind of style that is sometimes disturbing, yet strangely unique. Odd, I know, but let me explain.
Why am I disturbed?
Because I don't know if Borba is really that way or is putting on. I'm not kidding and get this, all of that said, she is by far, PIX's best reporter. She has credentials. She has east-coast style and the most unusual voice I've ever heard. And she has either good luck or good fortune too because she gets all the best stories.
Pay attention to this woman unless you have already have and neutralize my anxieties. This is serious business, you know what I mean and I think you do.
She is just a gal from the small town of Gustine, south of Newman, north of Los Banos. He heritage is Portugese. I watched her grow up...
ReplyDeleteI have noticed the unique voice and delivery too and I love her. Met her once in a coffee shop and we talked for a few minutes. She's one of my favorites--solid, not show-offy, but memorable. Smart, too.
ReplyDeleteLocal gal of sorts and she seems to be above competent, fearless reporter. She's also fine as all get out. I know "some of you" don't do curves- but she gets the story, and looks good doing it. No complaints here.
ReplyDeleteBoobs!
ReplyDeleteA while back, she really struggled at times on-air. Woolly, sloppy appearance, strange actions, poor delivery/speech impaired. Seemed like it may have been health related. In the last year or so, she has looked and sounded MUCH better. She seems like a nice and smart enough character, and the recent marked improvement is accentuating her unique style and contributions.
ReplyDeleteI've posted this before, she replaced Roberrrrta Gonzaleshhh for me at KPIX as the weirdest delivery on bay area TV. I can't look away, but not in a good way. She's what's referred to as a try-hard, which isn't a good look when reporting FACTS. She lets her delivery and phony wordsmithy get in the way of reporting the facts.
ReplyDeleteI also don't get that weird lip pursing thing she does when she finishes "KPIX five..." at the end of her reports.
But, I suppose I'm watching KPIX, so.....
I don’t think anyone agrees with you.
DeleteI've noticed the lip pursing during some of her reports, and it appears to be a nervous response.
DeleteOh she is wickedly smart and the best writer ever. She is a stand out in this market !
ReplyDeleteYes, she is intriguing and beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYou hit the nail on the head with her. Her style and voice is unique, but she does a nice job delivering her story. But at times I find myself trying to figure her out, rather than listening to her story.
ReplyDeleteI'm waiting to read your critic on Jessica Flores, aka little Robbie. She looks like she could be her daughter. Talk about no personality. How does she keep her job?
ReplyDeleteShe's gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThe one at KPIX I cant stand is Katie Nielsen, who comes across like she belongs on the Vegas strip. Makes Heather Holmes seem tasteful and restrained by comparison.
ReplyDeleteOne other thing about Andria:
ReplyDeleteShe does a nice job with her Twitter page. Frequent news updates, and a little humor and personality thrown in the mix.
Those Tetas though !!!
ReplyDeleteFUN FACT FROM AN INSIDER: When Andria records voice tracks, instead of counting down "3...2...1..", she says phrases such as "get this" and "Here's the facts" and then launches into her track.
ReplyDeleteAndria is Definitely One of a Kind... In a Great Way. She delivers her stories very well despite her "quirks" I appreciate the fact that she has them to differentiate herself from the rest of the group! She does have an AWESOME Twitter page which I follow and chat with her regularly. She has a great personality and is also fun to follow and relate too as well!
ReplyDeleteWorked with Andria Borba in Redding and she was the WORST reporter and writer in the market. It's quite shocking she made it to San Francisco. But happy she made it there as well. Her delivery has changed from choppy and robotic, to monotone, deep, and impersonal. Not sure how this appeals to KPIX, but to each their own.
