Color Me Bad

CONTENT? Who cares about content. What's that?

We want color, wait a minute, different color.

Orange, Red, Taupe, Green. Oh my goodness and BLUE too!

I thought superficiality in local TV News had its zeitgeist years ago but good old social media has dug in and gives us ...this.

PIX isn't the only enabler --it's a common scene in virtually every news set these days. Especially the weather and traffic anchors ..and especially in the morning shows where the women wearing the dresses have a virtual wardrobe of virtually every conceivable color--except black, which for some reason is now a no-no. I have no idea why; maybe they think some kid in Concord will become manic and deluge the community by watching some lady in black.

Elvira on KRON wears black.

Don't forget Robin Winston (she gets a pass)

*Hey, a selfie! You sure don't see any of those on TV News lately.

  1. The only color on KPIX is WHITE. No black there in any sense of the word

    1. All White, except...

Griego, Joe Vazquez, Jessica Flores, Maria Medina, and Len Ramirez are Hispanic . Devin Fehely, Vernon Glenn, and Christin Ayers are Black. Da Lin, Betty Yu, Kiet Do, Sharon Chin, and Andrea Nakano are Asian.

  2. I don't think Michelle owns anything that is NOT a solid. She does seem to have a pattern in her wardrobe.

  3. I get that HDTV means you might as well be colorful - I guess I'm used to newspeople looking like lawyers heading to court (whether male or female).

  4. KPIX definitely does not allow its women to wear black. I think CBS corporate has told them no black dresses at all.

  5. I still think the most foolish thing television stations do is show on social-media sites absurd fake-spontaneous "selfies" (like this one with RW giving the peace sign) in a desperate attempt to depict anchors as a bunch of zany buddies who just happen to meet up each day to give you what you need to know.
